If you try to register later, they will have valid reason to void your warranty.

When you need to claim warranty, they will need your tax invoice or receipt as a proof.

Even some ah pek gameshop is also registered company or dealer from Sony so they will have an official invoice which will be recognized by Sony.

If you think like those stationary shop handwritten receipt can be accepted, you are welcome to try.
