I'm planning to terminate by MBB 2 Cards Plat as I almost have zero usage of it these days. Same goes for the CIMB Cash Back.

In return, I would like to take the PBB Visa Sig. and RHB World Mastercard on top of the UOB One card I have, is this advisable?

Lastly, can I request for a reduction to my credit? I think they gave me a stupidly high amount based on my income but I have almost no need for that, or just let it be?

First of all, you may provide more info on your usage on credit cards so that others can assist you in determining the correct cards.

As for credit limit reduction, you may do so if you feel unsecured about the high limit. Plus, it helps if you plan to apply loans or more credit cards in the future.

Primarily focused on cash back as I don't really see the benefits of any other types of card. Or at least those I know of. Free annual fee as well.

On the second point, can you elaborate further on what you mean if helps if I plan to apply loans or more credit cards?

You may post here https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3644347. Just follow the format.

About my 2nd point, if you free up some credit limit, it will improve your chances of approval for credit cards, car loan, housing loan etc, as you will still have some quota left in your credit assessment / debt ratio, iinm. Maybe others can further explain to you as I am no expert tongue.gif

Hmm, as far as I know, it is not tied the the amount of credit given to you by the bank as it is up to their risk portfolio.

I can ask my colleagues over at Cards. We can only look at pretty limited information such as CCRIS or CTOS which does not include the credit line extended to the person.

UGPM!!!!
Question:
So on the 1st of June I signed up for Aeon's Gold CC, wanting to get the free 6x airline lounge tickets and confident of the 12x swipes a year requirement for free annual fee.
I surpassed the minimum salary requirement by 2x

On 30th June I received a sms saying it was rejected. No reason.

If I was working overseas, and my salary is in another currency in a foreign (but international bank which is present in malaysia), would it have effected the approval? The agent said they dont think so.

Note:
I currently have one at -2.2%BLR when i was working in malaysia a few years ago. DIBS repayments not yet started.
No other loans. 1 CC with above mortgage company, limit 3k, no ownings.

Call them and ask, perhaps the scarce credit history locally here meant you did not pass some of their usual checks.

Looks good but I'm already tracking using manual Excel. I will prefer if it doesn't require me to put in my CC no. and expiry date. hmm.gif
Though I don't see CVV column but I'm still paranoid to store this data in 3rd party's server since I have a lot of CC. laugh.gif

So far it is not asking for CC num, just card name and expiry date, statement date and due date.. this is presumably for the reminder ...

Well, it depends on your needs.
CIMB has one of the best exchange rates.
AmBank WMC/VI gives RM1 = 5X AmBonus Points for overseas spend and 5,000 AmBonus points = 1,000 Air Miles.
