I made an online transactions. I think the website is insecure and they already have all my details, means they might make transaction again to my card anytime in future. I called to the bank and was told the only way is get a replacement card and being charge RM 50. Need help.
*
Ok, there are two options. Get a replacement card and pay RM 50 for peace of mind. Or wait until there is an unauthorized trnx taken place then dispute the charges.

So I got slapped with a 2% surcharge recently.

Not wanting to argue, I quickly to down the terminal issuer and made copies of the tax invoice and cc slip.

Made a total of 4 complaints ( a new record ) to

1. Issuing bank's cc
2. Merchant's bank
3. Central bank of Malaysia
4. Customs department as well.

Hope it will teach them a lesson. :/

Have read through the posts here, but can't find the relevant answer to my question.

My question is : A bank pre-approved and issued me a credit card which was bundle with other facilities such as Housing Loan (I did not apply for it but the bank just issued the credit card to me). I did not activate the card and immediately call to cancel the card. In future if I would like to apply any credit card from the same bank, will I still be considered as new customer ?

Thank you and appreciate if anyone could answer.

I am quite sure when you bought your house, while you sign all those documents given to you, there is a credit card application form attached . I bought a car, this thing happened. I bought my house, this thing happened as well. But of course, you will only be a "new to bank" applicant after 6 months you cancelled the card.

Which mean under any circumstances as long as I cancelled the card for more than 6 months, I will be considered as "new to bank" applicant, regardless I was previously an active customer. Thank you thank you.  rclxms.gif

You are welcome. This thing happened because those bank agents , motivated by extra commission, added credit card application on top of our original transaction. Usually when you sign your SPA, or HP agreement, they will make you sign the credit card application form as part of the procedure. So to forumers out there, whatever you sign for, please make sure that is what you are looking for.

haih. I don't know if it's me or what.
I applied rhb, citibank. both got rejected.

requirements all passed.
maybe my record is too clean.
And when I asked the personal banker, she said "oh you need a cc to apply a cc."
How am I supposed to get a cc when all I've applied rejected my applications.

Any advice?

p/s: yes this is my first cc application.

Oh! Why don't u try UOB. We forumer used to encourage newbies to apply UOB as we thought they were most lenient.

Thanks.

What about using EPF etc as support? EPF has a higher rate than FD.

Any good bank you can recommend?
*
Can only use EPF only when there are contributions. Retirees only have two options, that is pledge FD, or The bank pre- approved . Furthermore there is an age limit for credit card applicant. For Maybank it is 65 years old. Above this age, automatically reject, even for supp card.

That is new to me. Gee, so difficult for retirees to get credit cards. They are not the ones who went bankrupt due to credit cards. The culprits are those below 40 yrs old.

How do those millionaires / billionaires retirees get credit cards then? Bank pre-approved?

Will the card be automatically terminated once one reaches 65?

Can a son apply a sup card for his father?

Thanks.

so after 65 yrs old no more credit card for old man/woman? haha..

First time hear this too, pity cannot enjoy all the benefits after 65 years old sad.gif

Wait a sec. The age limit is for applying credit card. If you are already a card member the bank won't cancel your card when you reach the age of 65.

Forever providing you can show proof of income for them to uplift the security.
*
Usually after a minimum period of one year, with good payment record, Maybank will discreetly release the pledge from the system. Even though they still hold the FD. The code in CCRIS will change from 29 ( Secured Loans under guarantee by financial instrument) to 00 ( unsecured loans) when it happens.

I learnt something new today.

I'll check my CCRIS for that.

Thank you for the information!

So technically I can uplift the FD already and use it for some other purpose eh?
*
Well, maybe you could but I don't know. Will be paying card center a visit soon to enquire about this.
