Hi i am planning to open a cyber cafe in SS15. Before that i would like to ask some pro sifu master here who have experience with CC business stuff.

Question:
1. PC, Accessories and Equipment such as : Desk, Chair, Counter and etc.( Maximum 80 Computer )
( Each PC i think can get cheap because order 80PC straight )

2. How do i find the software company who can provide the software and games to install to all computer. ( and how much is it for 80PC )

3. Server fees and stuff. ( May i know the initial cost to start a server and also the monthly fees for server internet ? )

4. The important one : Lisence... I heard a some say is hard to get because need know some one or give rasuah... But some say easy to get but pay 100K per year for license. Which is true ?

5. Monthly expenses on Electric, Water Bill. ( Any one open cc before can let me know ? for 80PC )

So far i think only these 5 problem... Let me know if i forgot to mention which stuff.

the cybercafe that i want to open is a gaming cyber cafe. i know nowadays no more people go CC just for surfing web.

I have seen one cyber cafe with 85 PC open in SS15 area known as i-Cyber, the business is not bad. during weekend or public holiday all pc full booked.

Gaming PC is expensive.. Min rm5000 for just a decent one.

oh gaming cybercafe.. Then it's should be okay.. But try to start with smaller PC.. 80 PC is kinda lot.. 30 or 40 PC should be better number..

There are some CC's in Ss15 which have been around for decades... go and observe first who u r going to compete with. There is obviously some strong reasons why they can last that long. Many new CC's in ss15 (exclude the veterans) don't make the cut and can't keep up with the competition for a long period of time. Before u incur a bomb, advise u to do a really thorough research first hands on.

go to mcmc and they will explain...later dun menyesal. Other CC used pirates yet when officer dtg serbu diaorg just used ori at main pc not other...rasuah a lot so lepas la. But mine dun take rasuah later court case baru jumpa.

better to setup a cafe similar to starbucks, where customers pay rm 15-20 for a cup of coffee (their cost is probably rm1), then offer customers free wifi to do their work. way better than buying , maintaining and operating pcs.

this amount is 5 years back.
Since usd drop and inflation so need invest more on it.
Tips> Invest more then 500k if u want to this business. Not enough money find partner. dont cut here cut there.

U mean Cyber cafe is becoming popular again because of dota 2 ?

DotA 2, CS:GO & LoL are the popular ones now. Not sure about licensing for those games, as far as I know just install Steam & Garena into your computer. Steam is free to install, not sure about commercial use though.

The market is still there. The new CC in SS15 right in front of AsiaCafe is packed to the brim most of the time. So I can guess where TS got his confidence from.

I guess so la, although I do see working adults there after work hours. But generally students I guess.

Once again (I have been telling this in all CC threads), that the application for new CC license has been frozen for KL/Selangor, therefore you are unable to apply for new CC license until further notice.

The cost for a decent gaming PC is RM2,300 * 80 = RM184,000. Rental in SS15 ground floor shop ranges from RM10,000 - RM25,000 (deposit for shop from RM30,000 - RM75,000). Renovation cost RM40,000. I forgot how much was my game licensing, but for 80 clients you will need to prepare at least RM10,000.

All in all we are looking at a ballpark figure of at least RM300,000 (before taking into consideration server and networking set up cost).

If no new license can be obtained, what is the market value of an existing license?

Seriously, they didn't go extinct. It's just that you're not their target market only so far. Once you've signed tenancy agreement, pay deposits & started renovations, then you will get visited already.

Any "walk-in customers" business will be most exposed to this risk one.

bro... I been in the cc industry for bout 15yrs+ and my advice to you is there are many more business to do other than cc. U will not able to compete with the big players in ss15 subang. And even if you do, the profit u can make isn't worth it. CC business is a sunset business, the only new players who is opening is either wanna wash the money or they just blindly do it without understanding the business. Another thing is, no new license issued for MPSJ... and even if they say got, don't completely trust it. I used to have one cc in equine park, and was promised by someone(high position) in MPSJ that I will able to get it after I do some donation, in the end after I renovated and apply for the license , he increase the price to a pretty high 5 figure. So in the end, I didn't get the license and every month I had to do donation to those fellas. Worst is every now and then they still have to do operation and kacau my shop (for wayang kulit purposes) . So just stay away from the headache la, u wont enjoy it whenever your staffs call u after midnight , boss polis datang mau kopi or mpsj datang mau kopi. each time I think bout it, I'm so fkin pissed and hope those pigs go to hell.
