i'm not sure if they've sorted out the problem with the new core 2 duo MBP but my core duo MBP zaps me all the time when it's plugged in. this didn't happen when i bought it and i really enjoyed it for like 2 months. but i guess the novelty has worn off now and i gotta admit, it's not a very well built laptop. i mean, notebook. you can't really put it on your lap, it's too darn hot. my dad has the same MBP as mine and its superdrive is not working anymore. well, just something to keep in mind.

cheers.
My MBP used to "zap" me too whenever it's plugged in with the charger but it's all solved when I used the longer cable for the power plug instead of the one without cables. Not sure what's the reasoning behind this lol. As for heat issues, I've seen some test results comparing the operating temperature between CD and C2D mbp's. C2D mbp's are indeed much cooler. Also, you may wanna try smcFanControl and tune up your fan speeds. It'll be noisier but it's worth it if you wanna use it on your lap...you might want to take a look at this too: http://www.appledefects.com/wiki/index.php?title=MacBook_Pro
