Planning to build an editing rig for filmmaking and some 3d rendering.

From what I've researched, 1151 skylake is the latest tech, but 1150 is still giving good performance for its price.
What do you guys think of the future of 1150 sockets in the near future?

New socket will replace old socket. Only time matter

- I am using 1155 as my primary rig
- Keep my 1366 for lab and software testing purpose.
- And 775 for HTPC, At least it still can serve me in different way.

u can try going for older architecture like the x58. 6 core xeons are about RM260++
just hope u r lucky to get a cheap enthusiast board where u can overclock it to 4ghz++

Or X79 mobo for V1 V2 Xeons or X99 for V3 and V4 Xeons. 8-cores and above still the best for editing and 3D rendering.
