Just got to open my very first FD with HLB

How does the 4.5% p.a 6months works?
Eg: RM10000 deposit x 4.5% = RM450
      RM450/2 = RM225?

You need to open a savings account. My experience today, you only can open a HLB FD account at the nearest branch you're staying (address as per IC) or nearest to your office. If you opt to open outside the radius you need to proof that your relatives or friends are living there and provide them with the utility bill.

OT: I successfully cancel my Hello Kitty HLB debit card today. Walk in to branch n tell the staff I want to cancel. They gave me the form to fill up n cancel straight away n they cut the card in front of me.

mine is islamic.

it seems CIMB doesn't offer eFD-i products. that is the only reason why i open a BSA-i in the first place.

hello, I need some professional advice from forumers here.

I wan to open a FD account with HLB under their promotion with 4.5% p.a., 6 months, but also considering Foreign current account in maybank which min deposit is USD 1k.

Was thinking since MYR is depreciating, perhaps foreign current account can help to keep the cash as long term.

what is the best to go to? I can only go for one ><
