QUOTE(Ramjade @ Dec 14 2015, 12:48 PM) Not really. I have followed them for a while and their rates are not competitive. you are clearly very green cos many of us here enjoyed 5% from HLB few years back. So don't be such a smart Alec and claim to be so knowledgeable .. Remember there's a HL bank within walking distance. Of course I used to check their rates first and then only compare to other banks (why go so far if HL is offering the best rates in town?) They have never lived up to my expectations. and Sweetpea, thanks for info This post has been edited by michaelho: Dec 14 2015, 11:53 AM |

confirmed MBB Gia 4.5% 12 months still available. Just placed today. Didnt put HLB cos maturing FD is from HLB and they wanted fresh fund. If they come up with better rates later, can just withdraw from MBB since no penalty

QUOTE(gsc @ Dec 15 2015, 04:19 PM) That green guy does not know the sequence...just like he said 6 months 4.5%, 1 year is more than 4.5%. Some more try o deviate on his original point....yesterday went UOB, banker cheque is 68 sen. Hoe he will remember Exactly, nvm him la. Always wanna be 'lek ng cit' We were talking abt HLB, then suddenly said AMBG in his later post . Aku pun malas nak layan. QUOTE(sandkoh @ Dec 15 2015, 04:38 PM) it seems diff mbb branch practice differently. some mbb branch will just give out fd cert on same day while others say wait for cheque to clear. MBB if use cheque to place FD after 4pm consider next day, kena before |

QUOTE(gchowyh @ Dec 19 2015, 06:24 PM) Besides UOB, I think sometime back it was said AmBank also can uplift at any branch, just confirmed that last week. CIMB and AMBANK FD upliftment at any branch for any amount , as long as IC can be read. PUBLIC BANK interbranch FD withdrawal possible BUT only up RMxxk (pls refer to PBB branch, I forgot exact amount) |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Dec 22 2015, 04:58 PM) You and I not same playing field what. Priority status have to pay????? Nvr paid a single sen ....Me have no Priority status with any bank and will never apply for any of their Priority status (waste of my money). If you are qualified, I am sure you would jump at the chance because pay less for BC, and can get free stuff. Cos your motto is NEVER GIB BANK FLEE MONEY...hahahah |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Dec 25 2015, 02:41 AM) Well you are paying with the amount of interest given compare to what can you get by parking your money somewhere earning double digit almost every year. Let's just say 10% of RM250k vs 4.5% of RM250k. That's a difference of about RM13k. More than enough money to go on vacations. dude, where can I get 10% a year ? Well, we are talking FD investments here. Anyway, to satisfy your curiosity, I have taken out every FD in HLB but I still get my BC for 68 sen and still enjoy their coffee whenever I go to the Priority Banking hall. So, what say you ? I will take the RM13k (vacation every year) compare to being a priority customer. |

QUOTE(Ramjade @ Dec 25 2015, 10:00 AM) no need to PM me, dude. I don't waste too much time on greens like you, no offence ya. Anyway, good to know a 'student' can qualify for Priority Banking status though, as stated in your PM . Good for you This post has been edited by michaelho: Dec 25 2015, 09:46 PM |

QUOTE(bbgoat @ Jan 7 2016, 03:44 PM) MBB eff rate 4.5% may not be fixed. On the 3rd month, I am getting 3.998% instead of 4%, slightly low but not sure if it will go down further. Capital and interest not guaranteed. MBB Gi-A , yeah i got RMX34.69 instead of RMX35.07 (my calculation)My opinion is HL 6 mths 4.5% is better with mthly interest. Except if interest rate go down, then 6 mths later may lose out to other banks with 4.4% rates. But hard to say which one the best as need to factor in other variables like convenience, length of FD etc. |

called up BSN , different branch different info.
1) branch A told me 5 years @ 4.75% interest upon maturity . 2) branch B told me 5 years @ 4.75% , interest every month into BSN savings account , for senior citizen extra 0.25% which makes it 5% for 5 years . WHICH BRANCH TO BELIEVE ? That is the million dollar question...lol |

QUOTE(ssiapf @ Feb 2 2016, 10:23 PM) i put in 5k in bsn 5 years 4.75%, and it was a hassle, the lady at the counter told me, IT can deposit monthly in to my saving acc, (by the way , opening a new saving acc with no book, i Did ask for the saving acc book but they said no, bad reputation), And later when i gave them the money, she key in all the detail and later told me that the interest from their computer system is only Rm936 upon mature date. I said what the F? SHe told me the system gave that figure to her, i ask how much is the rate, she said the system don't show... I said What the F? Lousy right? I have decided against it for the moment. Less interest elsewhere but I live longer, since no need to vomit so much blood. Then later she call to KL or some1, And i waste my time in the branch for 45 minutes . Then later she gave me the certificate that printed the correct amount of interest. And i ask them r they sure that it will deposit monthly into my saving acc. The Supervisor said yes. Now i just have to wait for a month and check it later. Really poor representative and lack of communication with their own bank product and services. By the way, they advertise the FD is guaranteed protected by the government. Hopefully something good comes along since my FD only maturing end Feb |
