HEY...finally exAM over d...p3 p4 n p5........wohooooooo

for those spm graduates....n wana do ACCA....plz come 2sunway.....afta all...its not too bad looo.....its jz tat...sumtimes u pay more n of coz u demand more bcoz of tat..... lecturers in sunway...sum gud sum xxxxx......

p1 n p2 depend on urself la....
p3 : mr tan
p4 : mr tan
p5 : mr john

b4 workin in sunway...mr tan is a lecturer fr systematic....mr john is jz oni 22 yrs old... new lecturer....bt hes damn gud...though d sub he is teachin is p5 wic is damn borin... he is dedicated n cares lot for his students.....

so fr wat i experienced these 6 months...i tink sunway is not a bad palce 2 study ACCA at all....mayb im lucky 2 being placed in a class wher ther r lots of SPM top students.... my class is not a fashion-show class....bt most of d members r serious about their studies....standards r high....

if u wana enjoy a campus life...IMO...sunway is preferred over any coll that provide ACCA....exam wil b held fr time 2 time....wic mk d students well prepared b4 d actual exam.... students wil b more dedicated in their studies....thou sumtimes u mayb feel life is suxx...life is all bout exam....bt if u reli noe how 2 divide n manage ur time... tis wil post no prob 2 u.....

rmb ACCA is all depend on ourselves....

LECturer ( 30% ) + hard work n intelligence ( 70%) = 100%

n if ur religious....pray alwiz....LEt GOD guide u in ur studies....pray b4 u study....

100 %( fr d above ) + prayers = more than 100 %.....tat means u will sure pass ur exam looo.....  thumbup.gif

Climbing Corporate Ladder in Accounting field

Some Engineering students that receive a pay cheque of RM 2,300 claim that he is underpaid, what about accounting degree/ ACCA graduate??

For those that in Accouting field, how u sharpen ur skills or interpersonal skills to climb the corporate ladder ?? How much ur salary increment u get after probation or what position u r after 3 years of working??

An Accountant get as little as RM4,000 while a lot of IT Programmer or Engineer can get around RM3,500 after 1 or 2 years of working?? DO U THINK THAT IT IS BECAUSE ACCOUNTING IS NON INCOME GENERATING UNITS (Other than Bank or Audit Firm), therefore we are underpaid ??
I post this thread in <jobs & careers>, but no response at all.
*
Are you sure engineers are that highly paid?? Coz as far as i can remember from friends and all, starting pay ranges from 1500 to 2500 or something like that..

All in all, it depends on what field you're actually working as.. I mean, some engineering degree holders would go into finance, audit, logistics, management trainee etc etc..

I don't think accountants are underpaid in the early years.. I do however think that fresh graduates pay are mostly about the same.. Unless of course you already have prior experience and is a top student of the university or u can offer something that would differentiate you from the rest

Demand for a particular profession also plays a big role.. Also, salary increment would be based on your work performance.. Not everyone gets the same amount of increment i think.. But i guess it depends on the firm maybe?? But i doubt it..

U certainly doesn't visit [JOBS & CAREERS] , most of them claim tht fresh graduate Engineer is RM2,500-2,800 standard pay. Exceeding RM3500-4000 after one or two years.
The Threadstarter,an average result fresh graduate (2nd upper) get RM2,300 salary & complain HOW LOW THE SALARY IS !!  If so, ur friends are certainly the bottom line compared to THEM. (Actually, my friend who is a engineer graduate who is receiving a pay cheque of RM2,800 just working in customer service answering complain & questions fr customers.) Some even get RM3000 as their starting pay with GOOD CGPA
*
You're right.. I don't surf that thread.. But yea, as i said.. Maybe they're in different line and not exactly engineering.. For example, the friend of yours who is in customer service.. It has nothing to do with engineering at all..

I have other friends who studied engineering as well, but ended up as a management trainee etc etc Starting pay would be about 2.8k.. All this jobs, accountants can apply for as well.. So if i were to apply as a management trainee in the same firm too, i'll get paid 2.8k too if i get the job..

Different firms offer different salary as well.. For example, petronas.. I'm sure if you're the chemical engineer there, you'd get a pretty high pay due to petronas's high profit margin..

When i mention the pay from 1500-2500, i was referring to true engineering job.. Not one like management trainee, logistics or whatever.. But then again, i could be wrong.. But that's as far as i know..

*
Just pray hard.. smile.gif And i've heard that markers try to be very lenient when they mark your papers.. And if you're part of the top 60% students in the world, you'll pass.. rclxm9.gif thumbup.gif

biggrin.gif i just register study at  sunway o...
i can't wait for it.... tongue.gif
*
Sunway will give you the text books.. But it's pretty much useless.. I have almost never opened any of the text books... Notes will be given out subsequently, but they will charge you for it.. They're photostated notes mind you.. And they charge pretty high..

If u wanna save $$, you should group with a bunch of friends and one of you buy the notes, and photostat elsewhere.. It's much cheaper that way.. tongue.gif

Wow.. i'm beginning to sound really anti-sunway.. lol.. WHoops..

Hahaha.. chances are, the note will be found by the invigilators during exams.. tongue.gif Maybeeee la.. tongue.gif Don't think they are thaaat free to flip through the pages actually.. tongue.gif

Though, the consequence of such actions will most likely end up in student accountant as one of the biggest jokes ever.. tongue.gif:P

because i dont have any basic in account and now i no need take the CAT course and take the ACCA. so i quite worry that..... icon_question.gif

Don't worry.. The notes you get from sunway lecturers SHOULD be sufficient.. No other reference books are required in my opinion.. Though, u can get notes from other prominent lecturers around KL.. Photostatted notes that is..
