One of the many MVNOs vying for the market share is BuzzMe (riding on Umobile network). The voice and texting tariff is not very competitive BUT the data plan has one unique feature that only the older Celcom xpax plans can give: no time limit data balance or put it this, data plans purchased does not expire !

Listed below are the standard tariffs, which is not terrific but still reasonable.
  • Voice calls: 18 sen / minute to all networks
  • Sms texting: 10 sen to all networks
  • Data PAYU : 5 sen / MB
  • Valud added: 1 year extended validity (RM38)
  • Activations: preloaded with either RM8 or RM30 credit with 30 days validity

BuzzMe data plans are as follows
  1. Smart Surf 200MB for RM5
  2. Smart Surf 1GB for RM25
  3. Smart Surf 3GB for RM60
I foresee a method on optimizing BuzzMe data plan as below.

First, one may get a new BuzzMe prepaid and test it out with 200MB data plan subscription for 30 days.

Second, one will make a RM100 topup and subscribe to 1 year validity extension for RM38.

Let's say one suddenly needs a bigger quota and proceed to add another 3GB data subscription for RM60. Assuming there's a little balance of 100MB left, plus the new 3GB quota and now we have 3.1GB available.

Finally, as long as the account is valid, the data balance remains until used up / exhausted / finished.

What? One forgot to topup after 1 year expiry with lotsa data balance left? No problem, topup to regain validity and continue using the data balance.

Visit www.buzzme.com.my and check it out for yourself.

with increasing demand of internet quota, buzzme seems to be less and less appealing

Yes, increasing demand for more (fill_in_the_blanks). Looks like you're over qualified for BuzzMe ..... biggrin.gif

My only intention is to bring awareness for some of those who'd be looking for a plan like this.

it is for good for those who have wifi at home and need some data outside, or people who uses very little data monthly or students who comes back for holiday from overseas every now and then

If I recalled correctly, BuzzMe is mvno of EA and BuzzMe is not directly EA but a different company called Mobile 8 Telco Sdn Bhd.

Clixster did a reverse merger with EA but somehow the CEO of EA remains where he is and the group CEO is from clixster. Last I read, the group CEO was gone back in october.

So many thing that happened after the reverse merger was fuzzy and hazy (honestly I really don't know much). i imagine and guessing that clixster wants EA to help them out but EA didn't , so clixster was shown the exit.

If I'm not mistaken, BuzzMe is a different entity connected to original EA people since BuzzMe was created long before clixster reverse merger.

I visited their website, buzzme.com.my, but lots of 404s and contact form not working. Is this MVNO going down?

Sent an enquiry via FB. See if anything happens.

For my needs, Buzzme is ideal. Anyone here doing MNP for Buzzme?

I received reply from BuzzMe via FB Messenger. They are quite responsive there. I asked and they gave me 2 dealers near my house that can do MNP.

Will probably try the MNP tomorrow.

Problem now is I registered on their website but didn't receive verification email so reloading is going to be a hassle if cannot reload online. Malas nak pergi kedai tiap kali nak reload. Haiz.

Wanted to do the port-in today so I went to the 5 dealers that were given to me by BuzzMe FB but 2 of them were no longer there and the other 3 said they don't do BuzzMe.

Anyone know of a dealer that's doing BuzzMe?

I think so too. The store locator didn't list any near me. I asked in FB and the ones that they give me there didn't pan out. Also must check to see how easy it is reload.

For 2 things, the 365 days validity and the data package which follows the main credit validity. So thinking of loading RM70 and paying RM38 (365 days validity) + RM25 (1GB data) which should give me 1GB for the whole year and RM7 credit left. It's for a phone which will need Whatsapp all the time and mostly just receive calls. And also for the experience of using an MVNO which seems half dead. :-)

The next option is DiGi with Super Long Life (RM38) and IDD Club (RM10) but data speed is slower @ 64kbps. However this will avoid the hassles of finding a dealer that can a port-in or reload.

SIM 1 - RM30/year data only
Get the NEW Hotlink Tablet Plan and stay connected to the internet, 365 days a year.

SIM 2 - call & SMS plan
OneXOX MNP with free 28 month validity and free RM5 inside.
XOX MNP if u want voice bundle for all network with 28 month validity.

It's a good strategy but would prefer not to swap sims because, given time, the sims will sure get lost.

HTP is out because there's no voice nor SMS.

Not sure about OneXOX but I looked at XOX. see post below.

Thanks, but I'm not sure about the validity. 8GB RM110 is the season pass correct? What is the validity of that? Does the data validity follow the credit validity of 28 mths or the validity of the DataM package?? The Season Pass FAQ says that I have to subscribe a DataM package (cheapest DataM is RM18/mth for 500MB). What I understand is that I have to subscribe to DataM every month in order to utilise DataSP.

I tried calling XOX's number, 03-79628000 but it's disconnected.

Thanks, I couldn't understand their website. Suddenly XOX is looking like a good choice.

Let's say I purchase Monthly500mb once and bought the SeasonPass8GB (paying RM18 once + RM110 once = RM128):
1) If use only 284mb per month, does it mean that the 8GB will be valid for 28months?
2) Am I limited to a quota of 500MB every month? If I use more than 500mb in the same month, is the extra deducted from the season pass or charged as PPU or data is cut off until the next month?
3) When the SeasonPass8GB runs out, do I buy another SeasonPass8GB or SeasonPass8GB + Monthly500mb?

i believe that xox is a good deal for long validity, but not for mobile data.

the monthly 500mb plan costs rm18. if you draw 500mb from seasonpass, that is equivalent to rm110/16=rm6.875 in cost. so for 1gb of data usage, you pay rm24.875. this is similar to what you pay for 1gb for 30 days of use
from other players.

You mean friendi right? At first, their approach to their previous system is pretty good but recently friendi got greedy and somehow change all the bonus and freebies.

now friendi is good if you use it for very minimal calls/sms, use case would be for parents or relatives who only accept calls and make very few calls annually. Although, tron would be easier because the validity is for a year, just reload once per year, instead of having to make a call/sms/reload every 2 months.

You can buy XoX Season Pass data RM35 for 5GB (only certain dealer offer), NOT OneXOX ya!
So 1GB is only RM7

Tell me...which telco can beat that offer using 1GB for 1month at rm7 nia.

precisely, one cannot look at rm per gb for season pass alone because data from season pass cannot be used standalone.

Allow me to re-phrase .....

My understanding of Season Pass usage is in-line with MNet:
QUOTE(MNet)
u buy seasonpass 8GB.
Every month u takeout 500MB from ur 8GB to use.
.....
  1. I buy 8GB Season Pass currently at RM109.90
  2. For this month, I want to use 500MB so I subscribe DATA M500MB.
  3. This will deduct 500MB from my Season Pass (no deduction from account credit)
  4. Next month, I want to use 1GB so I subscribe DATA M1GB
  5. This will deduct 1GB from my Season Pass (no deduction from account credit)
  6. And so on until my Season Pass finishes
  7. I also understand that Season Pass cannot be used alone because XOX does not have PAYU.

Activating against standard data plans = instead of deducting RM18 credit for 500MB monthly, XOX deducts 500MB from Season Pass for use as monthly data.
So, the bulk cost is ~RM110 for 8GB, thus 110/8 = RM13.75 per 1GB or 110/16 = RM6.875 per 500MB .....

If this is what MakNok meant then it is also in-line with my understanding (and also MNet).

This mnvo buzzMe almost like semi Tunetalk (have coverage of insurance with minimum top up RM30 or above), semi umobile (riding with U Mobile network with high call and sms rate for old U Mobile prepaid plan) and semi Digi (for validity 365 with RM38/year)

In simple, completely like copy cat company. shakehead.gif

I just wondering rolleyes.gif , which mnvo company can provide free basic internet (semi Hotlink), free extended validity (semi Tron), free insurance coverage with certain amount minimum top up (semi tunetalk), best lowest call and sms rate with FnF (semi DiGi), free high speed internet at midnight (semi xpax)?

Dunno ... never seen a buzzme reload card ...
I believe most buzzme users do direct, online or epay voucher reloads.

I meself never had a buzzme sim ... wanted to try a couple of years back but didn't in the end ...
