I'm a Computer salesman. I'm getting all customer complain everyday with same overheating case. There is 1 customer i made replacement for 3rd time with same results. I run GTA V and the laptop heat like hell (In Low-Med Settings). Also this is based on my experience. also depending on how user take care of it thou. I'm MSI User Heat is no problem with me. 

herm. i sold over 500uits of Y50-70. No mean of offense i think your caseS are rare.

Yes n no. Y5070 has one major problem: screen color pretty fair

i using illegear for 1year :

1) Budget: RM5k and below. (yes z5 bellow 5k)
2) 15.6 inch screen. Full HD (yes)
3) Nvdia GTX650M and above. (z5 got 960 better than 860)
4) 8Gb Ram (ddr4 8gb ram 2133)
5) 1TB HDD (hybrid with ssd if under the budget) (yes hybrid 1tb)
6) No any techinal issue (none i encounter)
7) prefered brand : Lenovo, Asus, Dell (not prefered brand but illegear the best brand i ever have and no issue encounter yet..tried asus rog 3d(a good one but warranty hehehhe, lenoyo y series heat heat heat)
8) Good warranty service ( I heard asus have bad warranty claims) (nothing to claim yet)
9) No heat issues. ( what is heat issue in illegear ???)

If you do your research well and don't mind taking some risk, there are alternatives for all this mainstream brands one.

Illegear is one. There are others like Clevo based SM-15 and etc.

Or if you are adventurous, you can always go to Singapore and find some of the custom laptops there.

What about Gigabyte p55k v4? Only RM 4.9k for i7 5700hq and gtx 965m.

I agree with you. y50 is still using 4th gen cpu.

At this moment, if you have 5k budget for a gaming laptop, there are many better choices. Alienware, msi, illegear are good choice for you. Just go to Low Yat and ask for 6th gen notebook price and performance.  You will have more clear picture.

Ram max capacity is 32GB. Upgrading wont effect your warranty only if you modify component

I ignored the Warranty stickers    . Im currently using Samsung 850 EVO pretty good so far.

There still have Warranty Sticker inside the Component as long as you dont mess with it, you are covered by warranty.

Remember you can only upgrading M.2 Sata / HDD or SSD / Ram only.
