The potential tenant didn't come, ask his siblings to come view the house. They are I. (agent bring, though I told before don't wan I)

I ask to take photo of the house. I allowed. However, I noticed he only took pic of furniture, fan, crystal light, house from outside. HE Never take room PIC UNFURNISHED.

They just take pic and left.... Never ask anything...

Can this be a theft? How to prevent it?

Your room unfurnished, what's there to take? might be interested to see what's already there so no need to buy?

i would take photo also the items provided in the tenancy. Later landlord might accuse tenant of theft and forfeit your deposit for minor items.

i think such allegations are really uncalled for but it is a risk especially in a shared tenancy rather than an exclusive tenancy.

if the tenant don't bother to view the unit himself, better avoid.

i personally prefer to meet up the tenant and communicate with the prospect 1st.

If you are not comfortable to deal with this tenant, then don’t rent your house to him. That’s simple.

if you are really that suspicious then make sure next time you tell your real estate agent to inform any potential tenants or purchasers to not take any pictures of the property due to "personal reasons".

no need to lose sleep over all these minutes things. taking pictures of the property does not mean someone is going to break in and steal your things and honestly, if your house has been earmarked for robbery, even if you have 10 tier security, your house WILL be broken in.
