actually, I feel James and Ulrich never really accepted him into Metallica, well to be honest, I feel the same way James and Ulrich too... Maybe it's because I miss Cliff so much...or maybe I don't like basses being played with picks

i wouldnt blame metallica on bob rock, rather jason newsted tongue.gif
look at the crap newsted has made since leaving metallica, then after that he was begging to join back metallica.
of cos both jaymz and ulrich said a big fat NO.

yea, this is all also in the 'this monster lives' book.
half the book is crap and goes on about how the stupid filmmakers talk about their previous projects and crap.
the other half talks about stuff that didnt make the movie, like that newsted whining thingie.
any link to refer to? sounds like an interesting story/gossip

I saw metallica live at earls court in the 90s, even then, there were lots of uncles and aunties in the audience. Ofc they were all dressed in black and biker gear.. so yeah they're old tongue.gif

Velvet Revolver's Matt Sorum: The New Metallica is "Crazy Fast."

From RollingStone.com:

Metallica are hard at work on their next album with producer Rick Rubin, and at least one person outside the band has heard the songs: Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum. We'll let him take it from here: "Lars (Ulrich) is a good friend of mine. He played me the demos from San Francisco, and I turned and looked at him and I said, 'Master that shit and put it out.' It's ridiculous. The demos were sick. Eight-minute songs, all these tempo changes, crazy fast. It's like, 'Dude, don't get slower when you get older, but don't get faster!? How are you gonna play this live?' And then me and Lars were out partying all night, and he had to go in the studio the next day and do this stupid like nine or ten minute song, and I was laughing at him - because he played me the demo of it, and it was so fast. I called him, and said, 'Dude, how are you feeling?' He was like, 'Dude, I'm hurting.' They're cutting everything to tape, no f***in' Pro Tools - live, no clicks. b****in'. I dig it. I'm really excited for them."

also kirk hamster thinks the new metallica album is the best they've put out in 15yrs.
lets see 15yrs...load, reload, st anger.
basically indirectly hes saying, its just an average album tongue.gif
