14 dead, 27 injured after ski tour bus veers off cliff in Nagano
NATIONAL JAN. 15, 2016 - 11:00AM JST ( 14 )TOKYO —
A tour bus carrying 41 people bound for a ski resort veered off a road in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, early Friday morning, leaving 14 people dead and 27 injured.

The number of deaths and injured people was disclosed by Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga at a morning press conference.

The injured were transported to hospitals from the accident site on National Route 18, some two kilometers south of Karuizawa station, according to local firefighters and police.

The bus with 39 passengers and two drivers went off the road at around 2 a.m. while it was en route to a ski resort in northern Nagano Prefecture after leaving Shinjuku in Tokyo on Thursday night. The road was not frozen at the time of the accident, the police said.

The bus with a full load of passengers strayed onto the wrong side of the road and rolled over the guard rail. The vehicle sustained heavy damage and many passengers were trapped underneath, police said.

One of the passengers made an emergency call immediately after the accident, according to the police.

The bus was carrying people on a ski tour package sold by a Tokyo travel agency.

1. Sent message to my 2 airbnb host whether should I be concern about any cancellations.
The host in Osaka replied to my message but did not answer the question.
The host in Hiroshima did not reply after 2 days. Prices are crazy in Hiroshima, so made a panic booking using booking.com. with free cancellation option, Toyoko Inn, 10 mins shinkansen away from Hiroshima St, RM300 more expensive than my airbnb and still subject to change depending on the currency.

2. Shitty MYR and strong YEN. Have not changed a single YEN.

3. Sakura forecast also not in my favor.

Haih, feel like wanna cancel my trip  sad.gif

don't cancel....your airbnb booking since last year should be still ok. for the sakura, you won't know....this year forecast not so ngam...really depends on the weather and I hear my cousin said the weather is getting warmer d...don't worry wink.gif

Seafood always stay at market. Cheaper and more fresh. Those seafood market once you buy it, can direct process on spot.

Always remember, Japanese food in buffet style always suxk. Japanese food are to made fresh infront you. I never eat Japanese cuisine in Buffet. Never go KL Jogoya.

Quick question, I saw in ANA website that flight from KUL to Tokyo for 2 pax in Feb 2017 is RM2760.00 return. Is this a good deal? Sorry to ask here because I can't find a forum for ANA and I'm not sure what's the normal rates on ANA. Anyone knows, can PM me? Thanks.

I am officially starting to plan for a trip to Hokkaido. Targeting July next year for the Lavender season. After a quick read-up today, I have group the destinations to:

Confirm going: Sapporo, Otaru, Furano
Under consideration (75% chance): Asahikawa, Biei
Under consideration (50% chance): Noboribetsu, Hakodate
Want to go but seems 0% chance: Shiretoko, Daisetsuzan

Planning for 6-7 nights.
Wanted to try out ANA or JAL but seems they have transits. Taking direct AA flight, the main concern is the very early departure time on the return trip. Still thinking how to solve this.

michlovesee what happen... I told you don't poison me
*
woohoo! Oh, I manage to poison you ahh..... icon_rolleyes.gif Oh yah, hakodate must go...i regret for not going due to insufficient time. Remember to look out for Ibis Styles hotel. Love the spacious room!

is it a good idea to travel on january (7th-14th jan)

You have only 8 days and you wanna travel so many places? If you are flying in to Kansai, then just concentrate on Osaka, Nara and Kyoto.
