i have read and enjoyed seinen like vinland saga and vagabond; i also liked thinking stuff like death note and kindaichi; my fvourite portion of naruto involves shikamaru;

please recommend me something to read (prefer seinen)

enjoyed kiseijuu too; although the final battle a bit on the lame side. wish it would explore deeper issues more, as well as make the kiseijuus more sympathetic.

basilisk is.... for a lack of better word.. shallow.

alive seemed pretty typical shonen. youth get special power, then fight against others with special powers to protect others. and each special power is unique.

kiseijuu is nice. and has very little in common with alive other than the alien invasion angle. basilisk is so-so. like action movies, all fight, not much substance. dont really like the mangaka's style also.

recommendation for a few interesting manga i have recently completed:

"change hifumi" is a entertaining, but ecchi (definitely 18+) fighting/romance story. Only thing is all the fighters are females. think of it as shounen highschool genre with female leads.

"ibitsu" is a short horror story. definitely chilling like most j-horror movies (ringu, audition, etc)

"sundome" is a sweet but ecc... actually i think its hentai love story. if you can ignore/stand the 1000% nsfw bits, you get a nice slice-of-live/coming of age love story.
