Finally get myself a Mate 8, first impression is that this phone really feel premium and it's actually snappier than s7 edge, camera still lose to s7 edge though.
But I have 2 questions.. 1. How to change the default home launcher? I want to change to Nova launcher, but it seems like no where I can set the default launcher.. Edit: manage to find in the setting menu. 2. Can we move the app to the SD card? Same thing.. I couldn't do this in the App setting... Thank you. QUOTE(Titan_Gunners @ Mar 29 2016, 12:29 PM) Good point , Uncle Benny. Those ppl are stupid, they only know two brands, Samsung and Apple. Some even think that Android = Samsung only. When u tell them u using LG phone, then they ask u why don't u use Samsung, which is Android? *facepalm*But there are still many ppls out there, thinks that China Made phone is cheap and low quality. If spend more than rm1.5k for it, they think you are crazy. And still, they feel proud and higher status if using Samsung/ Apple phones. |

Anyone of u applied tempered glass SP on this phone? Do the sides/edges of ur tempered glass SP list up) I bought a tempered glass SP from Huawei itself, the edges of the SP slight lift up. If urs dont have this problem, mind to share what brand of SP u bought? it's even better if u could share the item link here

QUOTE(retsmot @ Mar 29 2016, 04:44 PM) i using nillkin tempered glass. doesn't seem to have lift up, if lift up means the sp is senget ledi. Then i think it's the staff there never applied the SP properly either than or not placed properly, since the sides of the screen are slightly curved, you can only place the tempered glass on the flat surface. QUOTE(Sata_Cable @ Mar 29 2016, 04:59 PM) which shop u bought the case from?QUOTE(Titan_Gunners @ Mar 29 2016, 05:01 PM) I guess it's RM169, stated on the box. This post has been edited by devil86: Mar 29 2016, 05:05 PM |

QUOTE(bearbear @ Mar 29 2016, 10:45 PM) The only thing like S7 edge over the Mate 8 is the camera only, hopeful the software update of Mate can further improve the camera.. I prefer the big screen of mate 8.. The s7 edge is way too sensitive especially the edge screen. I'm addition, mate 8 performance feel smoother than s7e. |

QUOTE(xperiaDROID @ Mar 29 2016, 10:48 PM) Is the S7e camera really that great? Some people said the same thing about the Note 5, but it was not great as they said, maybe it's just me. Somehow the S7e is sharper..too sharp until it looks fake if u zoom in the picture. Mate 8's camera is not that bad..picture below taken in my room ![]() but if compare to S7e..i think S7e camera is slightly better...haha QUOTE(xperiaDROID @ Mar 29 2016, 10:55 PM) Theoretically that can be done as the chipset of the mate 8 supports 4k video recording if i'm not mistaken.. |

I think i have to correct what i mentioned above, found online that:Btw, I wonder why they didn't add 4k video recording in the first place. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Source Dont really understand the above statement, but it soundslike the new Kirin 950 chipset in Mate 8 support 4k video playing, but not support 4k recording... |

QUOTE(chittyserv @ Mar 30 2016, 02:46 PM) Thanks for feedback cause am on Huawei Honor 6+, reviews all say graphics good but when use abit laggish even on performance mode battery QUOTE(retsmot @ Mar 30 2016, 02:39 PM) i play marvel future fight(very graphic intensive battery eating game) on it. smooth but in some heavy modes will still have fps drop... Maybe u can try to set the battery mode to performance mode, see if the frames drop issue still exist? i personally think for mate 8 the weakness is the gpu, mali-t880 mp4 is just not as good as the mali-t880 mp12 on the s7, which is somewhere around adreno 530's level. my friend's s7 edge, which we are playing the same game(future fight), performs slightly better in the heavy modes i mentioned, but mate 8 gets points for endurance, keeping in mind that our mate 8 renders at 1080p while the s7 edge should render at 1440p(eats more battery). QUOTE(benny888 @ Mar 31 2016, 09:37 AM) What browser are you using ? If is Chrome - is well known to be a battery guzzler I prefer chrome coz it sync with the chrome I used on my computer and across the Android phones I used, especially the bookmark and history. Although chrome consume lot of battery and RAM, the sync feature is very useful..I only use either Next or Boat in ALL my androids |
