can change the launcher? I tried on Nova Launcher but no way.. need to root the phone?

How you wanna update it? Use custom recovery or stock?
Any idea how to proceed from my 1st day old phone?

You can only use stock recovery to update such firmware
Just copy all the extracted files into a folder dload
Copy this folder to ext sdcard
Switch off phone. Press both volup n voldown n power buttons simultaneously. Once you see phone bootup let go only the power buttons. Once you see firmware being update letgo both the vol buttons

yesterday i use internal memory and failed...
i extract that update zip, and copy all inside update zip (have metafile and upadate.app)
will try later tonite 

Because Nexus 6P is using Snapdragon 810, it's not as power efficient as the Kirin 950 on the Mate 8.

The Mate 8 would've been a godphone if it had Mali T880 MP12 GPU instead of the weaker MP4 GPU.

Placed and order for a Mate 8 + a Nilkin case on 11th March from Gemfive
Gemfive website stated that the product will be sent out by 14th March
Received Nilkin casing on 15th but no words about the arrival of the Mate 8
Make a phone call to Gemfive customer service (03-27141700) on the 15th and was told that will be informed once they receive any news from the merchant
No calls or emails from Gemfive thereafter
Call Gemfive customer service again this morning and was told the exact same thing again by the same guy with creepy sound (like he got some super nasty insomnia and never slept for 500 years)

Yes it fit perfectly. No halo effect. SP alone is rm20. But many are not selling, either out of stock or just nt selling for non popular model. Do spend some time look for it.

just received the hard shell case that i bought at ebay

i am kinda disappointed with the quality of the case - even tho the name, hard shell case, but it's just a piece of cheap plastic. haha. 





anyway, i dislike the flip case even more.

Paid RM100 for Nilkin transparent TPU and TGSP. Don't know why I did'nt think twice unti I left the place.
Must be too eager to protect my phone.
Got it from Huawei at Sunway Pyramid btw.

I like flipcases n I wonder why some of you hates it!! I always use flipcases on all my phones. I don't find it inconvenient at all using it...anyway that is just me

And to any doubters the Mate8 has quite a good camera...is good enough for me. Ofcourse you cannot compare it with camera kings such as S7edge or LG V10 ( both phones I had too)
All early reports of poor camera was based on early development build of firmware n one shouldn't be worried about it
