Gamespot compared the Xbox 360 and PS3 graphic already,you can go gamespot for details.

PS3 & Xbox360's graphics are more or less the same. But according to *1up's PS3 & Xbox360 graphics's comparison*, Xbox360 got a sharper graphics than PS3.

no way 360 version is better...for a while..maybe...
but ps3 have the better(power on it)...this year is 360 year..

Way better is not correct. I dont see any major difference until Gamespot compare the graphic side by side. And the difference is almost negligible.

It's those subtle differences that make things more realistic and take a lot of power to do. SHINY SHINY REFLECTIONS EVERYWHERE IS NOT REALISTIC.

they should have compared ridge racer 6 with ridge racer 7...the ps3's graphics eat the xbox alive. The realism of the ps3 is totally nothing the xbox could touch...it just looks fake on the xbox with a bunch of artificial detail. However, as far as those games gamespot used, the 360 is clearly better. I'm gonna buy into the idea that first party games, and future games will on the ps3 will look much better than the 360. But I can see that the ps3 may have some problems if third party game developers continue porting games from the 360 and only use 1/10 of the BD's capacity...probably just as much juice was squeezed out from the ps3.

I have to agree on no matter how superior is the system..it always fall back to the game developer effort to take advantage on its superiority.. and business decision is always become the determining factor, especially for the development cost and projected revenue ... always wonder how much is the development cost difference for the 360 and PS3 games...and how much the projected revenue will be lost if it is only produced for a spesific console, instead for multi-platform console....????

yeah, i agred with him. it's depend on the developer. like sony with its GT4, really accelerate the full performance of ps2.for xbox games like forza motorsport got nice graphics....anyway, i'm thinking to change to xbox360,of course bcoz the price is slightly lower than ps3...

Ardent supporter of Sony here. Blindly obsessed with the mere thoughts of owning the PS3. But on a debative perspective, i thought gamespot mentioned that the comparison that they made was NOT with HDTV.

The oni rationalization on a neutral basis on why ppl would purchase the PS3, is if ure one of those 'new tech gadgets' freaks (like me) ... Blue Ray Disc rings a strong bell !

Provided you already paid RM8000+ for a decent flat HDTV.

X360's games are cheaper too- asian versions cost USD40-45. PS3? ~60USD, whether you get it from JP or USA. You can even play Jack Sparrow on the 360 (literally), which saves you much more.

Your first assessment already shows your flaws. Sony NEVER markets it as a PC, so of course the PS3 is gonna be a "half-thought" PC. So does the Nintendo Wii and the 360, so your assessment there is moot.

Assess these consoles as "consoles" not "PC". How much was the Xbox 360 games when it first launched and only US versions of the games are available at that time? It was USD60 and more as well. The price went down with the introduction of Asian games, and with time, and as more game discs are printed in bulks, MS can pass the printing cost savings to the customers by lowering the retail price of the games. How many PS3 consoles are there in the world right now? Does it make sense to print 1 million copies of a PS3 games when there are hardly a million PS3 consoles out there? You can print 1 million copies of 360 games and bulk printing saves up on cost. Get the economics by scale here?

And choosing a console by the virtue of its piratability shows your priorities and where you put gaming in your life. I have nothing else to say about this.

And the most important thing is a PC can do alot of other things than gaming.

I have a PSP, PS2, Xbox and average PC and planning the get Xbox 360 when I get my bonus in next January. Also interested to get a PS3 too but currently the price is too high. Will probably get it when the price drops to around RM1500.

My advice is to get the Xbox 360 first because its out longer and have a better library of games. In the mean time save money and get the PS3 in 2 years time.

some people just don't like to use computer but instead switch on their TV and play with the console for simple entertainment purpose. sure PC can do alot more things and some people are happily and they have their rights discussing which console is better and ur fanboyz of PC thinks they are noob.

people have right to discuss everything as long as it isn't break the broad rules. can PC play grandprix or some shooting game? Even if they do, kudos for it. We have been facing the PC/NB for whole day in office and I rather to just switch on my TV and console and enjoy the game with my family.

PC, don't have Gears of War.

Just play puzzle bubble, tetris, pin ball etc on your PC if you want to relax. Believe me, there's nothing relaxing about today's games that sucks hours of your life and frustrate with high level of challenges, with a Just-let-me through the next level addictiveness (especially RPGs...pure life drainers ).

My wife is rite. I always thought playing games in my free time is relaxing, but when i look back now all those years, there's nothing relaxing about it...just more tension!!!

It really depends on the approach you take to gaming. I play the games and when it gets too difficult, I'll just switch it off and attempt it another day.

If its still too difficult, I'll resign to the fact that its not for me, and sell the game off

But if you are like competitive in gaming, then of course u will be more tension.

I am currently stuck at the last big boss of Gears Of War and it has
been very very very very very very very very frustrating.
Switched it off, watched a dvd instead.
But dvd also not relaxing. PULSE!

until now,i've seen nothing that impresses me on a pc..

half life 2 is repetitive(IMO), the other fps is just the same..rts,starcraft is the only one that grabs my attention,and for the other genres,i prefer consoles.

and i just hate the upgrading..

half a year goes by,your rig is light years behind everyone else

unlike consoles,you buy it at 3k(example) this year,it lasts 5 years.
no compulsory upgrade graphics,sound,controls,all stay the same

it sucks when you look at a magazine,and see the game's eye popping graphics,only to find out you need to upgrade your GC...or ram...or processor...or hard disk...or the other crap you have to upgrade

and another reason i prefer consoles...

Yea , DMC3 is in PC , but a shoddy port . Controller translation sucks and 0 improvement in graphic deparment , minus some of the effects from PS2.

Ya...kinda pointless, it's just their preference.

As for myself, i pro-xbox : Gears of War, Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, Ghost Recon, The Outfit, Dead Rising etc.

...but still pretty active on PC game : Heroes IV, Company of Heroes, Half Life 2, Dota etc.

On the road, it's all about NDS lite! : Braintraining, Phoenix Wright, Advance War &...erm...Cooking mama. Trade in my nintendog though.
