2626 isnt that old but you are mainly paying more for the additional i/o.

i had a 410 many years ago. I would say it was good then but nowadays you could get better interfaces.
anyways, have you tried looking for used units of RME interface or Apogee Duet? Comparing them side by side and you will be amazed at the differences. |

RME supports windows.
410's a/d isnt good and you can actually hear it, hence not much point getting a good pre then going through bad conversions. i'd recommend capturing as clean as you can first, which starts with a good interface. dont worry about pre's too much unless you have USD2k ready to spend. |
