as for phone performance, i know there's an improvement over the rn 3g, futhermore, the phone performance on rn 3g is already suffice for me... but my main concern is the camera quality, I've read quite some reviews stating Meizu's camera is better than redmi note...  sweat.gif

If you really need a decent camera, I suggest you Mi4i lah. Easily one of the best camera out there for the price tag.
It has extremely capable Sony's 2014 flagship IMX214 sensor (the same sensor found in Mi Note, Mi4, Oppo Find 7, One Plus One...etc) with matured algorithm by Xiaomi.

I, myself find Mi4i did excels in camera department. In fact, camera is Mi4i's highlight.
Even outshines Mi4 especially in low-light with its true dual-tone flash.
But Mi4i, like any other Mi series has no micro sd slot, so 32GB is the only option for you if you need huge space.

I'm not sure which sensor Redmi Note 2 is using, but I know Redmi Note 4G and Meizu M2 note are using mid-tier Samsung BSI sensor. If I'm not mistaken, Redmi devices never had Sony made sensor for its rear facing camera. Only Mi flagship series gets it.

Mi4i is definitely your choice if you can live with 32GB internal storage.
Beautiful screen and very capable camera. These two is Mi4i's highlights.

I own Mi4i and I agreed the camera is indeed superb

*sorry i missed the word mi4i....
red mi note 2 not good enuf?
*
Redmi Note 2 good but not on par with Mi4i in terms of camera and screen.

Mi4i has 95% NTSC display and widely known capable Sony IMX214 camera.

But if you're looking for big screen, then RN2 is yours.
Also RN2 has slight better performance especially in games.

hi real user experience is always correct... i will go for mi4i then
what's the difference between mi4i and mi4c
only the processor and os right?
thank you for your attention! icon_rolleyes.gif
*
Different processor (snapdragon 808 in the Mi4C is a high end SoC)
Extra 1GB of RAM (32gb variant)
Better display with higher contrast ratio (meaning deeper blacks, but Mi4i has higher brightness)
Better and newer rear camera with phase detection autofocus (Sony Exmor RS IMX258)
USB Type C

Mi4C is a huge upgrade from Mi4i in terms of performance, but Mi4i has better battery life.
Camera on both performs almost the same.

Hmm scary but this happened to other mass production products too

The last time I heard Xiaomi phone catches fire was back in 2013 i think?
It was Mi2S but later found out the owner was using unauthorized replacement part.

I hope mine will lasts like any other ex-mi devices i owned before.

If not mistaken, advanced manual mode only available on Mi flagship line ups. Mi3, Mi4, Mi4i, Mi Mi Note/Pro.

These includes
- manual ISO
- manual shutter speed,
- manual focus distance
- manual control over white balance adjust in kelvin units (from 2000k ~ 8000k)
- focus peaking

you can't control aperture bro laugh.gif
smartphone aperture is fixed, unlike DSLR. Redmi Note 2's aperture fixed at f/2.2

I think regional fraction in updates is indeed normal among Android smartphones.
Most of the time, homeland for respective brand will gets it first.

Unlike Apple, they update iOS for all supported devices and regions in one shot.

I don't know about other brand but the correct procedure is the rom had to be officially listed at the manufacturer website before anyone get an update irrespective of homeland or oversea customers. How can you push the update 1 week earlier before the official listing ? This is very confusing for some user , example , they heard friends said already got update to new rom but you can't find the new rom at the official website.
*
Xiaomi assumes everyone is using local set which is pre-loaded with same firmware so everyone will get OTA around the same time. Those who bought import sets with slightly different firmware and wondering why they get the updates faster is their own fault, not Xiaomi.

It doesn't matter if Xiaomi decides to upload the file on website or not as long as the ROM is already approved stable and safe by developers. The listed ones usually for those who wants to download older ROM and downgrade to previous version if by any chance they're not happy with current ROM smile.gif

I know the system isn't flawless, but one should expect this imperfection from a barely 5 years old company that didn't take too much profit out of their products to actually able to hire better employees like other tier 1 companies.

So, I guess this is not a big deal. You paid a very reasonable price for such an amazing smartphone for its class.
Don't expect premium service for cheap.

"You paid a very reasonable price for such an amazing smartphone for its class." This is the only contention I cannot argue about. But it's still unethical for not following the correct procedures. Btw , Xiaomi is not a small fly , it is a billion dollars corporations.
*
Bro, even Samsung uploads the full actual ROM file on its website only after they sent to all OTA around the globe.
Most manufacture does this too. OTA comes first.

To upload full ROM to website isn't as mandatory as to test and get stability approval of ROM before giving to users (be it OTA, web or wtv)

This argument is going nowhere unless you file a complain to Xiaomi about your dissatisfaction in updates to sooth yourself.

Samsung is so hightech and powerful that they treat their customers as fool who don't know how to download and install rom from their website. That's why they push the update to you automatically. They don't expect you to know about their phone technically. And 1 more thing , how often do samsung update their phone ?
*
lol so you're saying Xiaomi is wrong for following Samsung and other manufactures' procedure?
It's not treat fool to customer, this is user friendly ecosystem doh.gif

I'm so glad that you were born super smart, but not everyone in the world is tech geek and not relying on OTA for updates. If you think Xiaomi is for advance users, might as well they pull off that OTA update app huh?

Well, my brother's A7 gets update twice in a month. Less updates than xiaomi because it doesn't suffer "google play issues" and whatsoever.

OTA is the primary way of telling/announce/listed users there's new update.
Anything thats coming from OTA is official.

Not everyone willing to check out Mi's ROM website to see if new update is available from time to time.
Isn't it much convenient to majority of users, don't you think?

But they sometime did announce it at MIUI forum and MIUI Facebook too.
But if they didn't announce 7.0.12 in these two, idk if its bother you that much sweat.gif

At least you have the option to cancel update in OTA if you're not confident wink.gif

U mean 3g/4g? the above sot was on WiFi, this result not so good compare with note 4g, if on note 4g battery at leadt still left 30-40% no need to charge everyday.
*
That makes sense.
Redmi Note 4G has more power friendly SoC and screen is only 720p.

Full HD display itself already power hunger.

Before this, when i press recent button, it only shows the icon of the running apps background, eg chrome, clash of clans.. Now it includes the (image or screenshot) of the running apps background.. Quite nice..

I dunno if i'm the one who set the setting like that, or the miui automatically set it that way.. Because yesterday theres a download running background, around 600mb. I didnt run any download. I guess its miui running the download background
*
you can pinch inwards to change to icon instead of showing whole app
pinching outward will show whole app, pinching inwards will show icon of running apps.

this feature has been introduced since MIUI 6 i think.. or maybe earlier.
