Quick review of RN2's camera on dpReview FYI everybody smile.gif

Our back camera sensor is Samsung S5K3M2, front camera is Omni Vision 5670. Both suppliers are said to be manufacturers with low ave selling prices according to this articlee on androidauthority.

Frankly, I will use my dslr if I wanted to make poster sized prints for the wall. So I'm not too worried or flustered about this nugget of info (hahaha I even think 13mp is overkill lah given a smartphone's form factor)

On the other hand, with the F2.0 capability, there's opportunity to take pics with shallow depth of field. However, I find it frustrating trying to figure out how to execute focus & recompose to get the subject off center.

Also I just can't figure out how to access the exposure compensation slider. I think on the Mi4, there's a button for this in the manual control menu. None in RN2's.

Has anyone figured out these issues? Any instructional videos?

isn't RN2 comes with f/2.2 aperture?

Btw, only Mi series gets exposure compensation and manual focus slider in manual mode.

btw, the ppl at dpreview said they could access the exp comp slider...

the exposure composition in RN2 is limited to max EV2+ ~ EV2- via focus ring which is good enough.
it doesn't work for you? hmm.gif

There's two types of ROM :
- Stable ROM (7.xx.xx)
- Developer ROM (5.xx.xx)
He's probably referring to developer ROM, not stable ROM.
