My first impression of Ezy Garage wasn't really good cause of how it looked. It's quite small, not very noticeable cause the signboard is barely visible although it's just beside a badly maintained road and a car wash. The car working platform was made out of wood which wasn't really secured, and the expert looks like a foreigner with his fair skin, and the tiga suku pants. As it turns out, that guy is actually a Malay and he's from Penang, and he is very experienced with disc conversions because he wasn't struggling with anything at all. The only thing that caused the job to be over 4 hours long is because he wanted a better handbrake cable, and the spare parts shop had to hunt for it. The job would have otherwise taken just about 1 and a half hours or so.

A few photos from the brake job at Ezy Garage:

The caliper, which based on what the mechanic said, is for the CK, GSR, Mivec or something. I asked for the rear calipers to be painted black. The caliper also acts as the parking brake. It is reasonably strong, but it could be better. The handbrake was adjusted to max out at 5 clicks. It can be adjusted to be tighter but I want to make sure that the pads are not riding on the rotors when they're not engaged. Maybe the handbrake will become stronger once the brake pads get bedded in.

The drum brakes that were taken out. The reason why my rear right brake failed is because the brake lining came off. The paint of the drum was also heavily corroded since brake fluid was leaking, which is surprising cause the wheel cylinders got replaced just about a year ago. grumble.gif I'm happy to finally see the drum brakes disappear from my car.
*
fuhh so nice, done already,
so do you satisfied with changing form drum brake to disc brake for rear brake system?

any significant improvement of braking power ?

Went to nestum shop change my front tyres to C-Drive 2 yesterday.

Bought Brembo Disc Brake and also Brake Pad and bring along and ask them to help me change also.

End up when I see my existing disc, it was the old disc(stock that comes since I got my car first day, 3 years ago. (according to the condition la)

[attachmentid=5668279]
Left is new from Brembo, right is the old one.

Now this is proven that the shop I went in TTDI just cheated me over RM200 over a "New Disc Brake"
*
so how the performance of new brembo disc comparing to stock disc brake? hmm.gif
how much did u paid for 1 set front brake?

After some time of driving with the new steering rack bushes (silicone), I have to say that it's much easier to hold the cornering line now. Previously my car would sometimes corner well, sometimes wobble a bit midway during corner, and sometimes start going wide. With the new steering rack bushes however, the wobble and straying seems to have disappeared. It didn't solve my random pedal area kok kok noise though.

where do you change it? at Zordaq Bangi?

I did the change myself since I had a lot of space to work with, plus I wanted to save RM60. Since your car is the SV model, I think you will have to get underneath the car to get access to both of the bushings since the ABS module is located just above the passenger side bushing. If you don't have the tools and time, get the workshop to do it for you, and maybe get higher quality/performance bushings (e.g PU bush) while you're at it since you'll have to pay for the labour.
*
thanks for reply, my SV almost 2 years already, should i go change for new steering rack bushes (silicone)?

hmm.gif

the mechanic said my stock brake pads still in good condition

however, done changing front brake pads to Bendix Ultimate,

Well... It depends on you. If you feel that your car doesn't handle as good as it used to, changing the steering rack bushings may help. I take the same corners fairly often and have to say that the steering feels good so far.

while back to my hometown, usually i drove my dad's Vios J year 2009 and my cousin's Vios E year 2010/2011,
i can feel that both Vios not as good as my SV in cornering and handling. brows.gif
still satisfied with current condition of my SV

Way to check worn/ faulty steering bush.

Get someone seat at the driver seat. turn the steering.
( you check on engine bay, see the steering rack , whether got move left and right or not )
if yes, then is faulty.
*
got sample photos for steering bush and location of steering rack ? thanks

Did you buy the servo from the same person I met? I tried a persona sv with the sr 20 servo some time ago. Pedal is still soft like the original servo but with much more power. I like my evo servo better.

Persona ku usianya sudah masuk 7 tahun. Ini sedikit sebanyak review daripada saya.

1. Lasak (Reliable)
Komponen kompressor, radiator, alternator, semuanya berfungsi baik. Yang ditukar ganti cuma timing belt, absorber, bearing, light bulb bila sampai 100k km mileage. Compared to model Nissan saya yang baru usia 2 tahun, radiator fan rosak, aircon belt, bearing, suspension bush, semua ganti walhal tak sampai 50k km mileage.

2. Pengendalian (Handling)
Suspensi tak perlu diulas kerana semua tahu pengendaliannya mantap. Its better to have less grip but with more confidence, rather than more grip but without confidence.

3. Penyerapan Hentakan (Ride comfort)

Oh.. cakap tentang kompressor Proton (semua model!) memanglah sangat bingit.

7. Kualiti dalaman

9.Fuel consumption

Agak tinggi untuk pemanduan mixed urban-country drive (9-11 km/L) berbanding 12-13km/L untuk trio Jepun B-segmen. Di lebuhraya pula boleh capai 15km/L.

Sekian ulasan ikhlas daripada saya, pemilik Persona buatan tahun 2009. smile.gif blush.gif
