Guys, we're these ever sold in Msia? I've seen the ones with 16" wheels but not with 20" wheels. Thinking of buying one....what do you think?
*
this model i saw only in thailand.thus this bike also not so popular here in malaysia.better still u bring back dahon iii (dahon classic) sold here around rm1k and above.also not to forget dahon da bike sold here around rm500 and above.its really a nice piece of germ!

Strange, I would have thought the 20" would be more popular. I know there is a Dahon Classic club somewhere and they have pretty nicely done up bikes. Looks nice but in its original form may not ride that well.
*
dont know why,
but the 16" dahon iii or da bike are a bit more popular here in malaysia. and the price are going up depends on condition.

i think maybe the dahon classic owner may have few folding bike that is 20" sized.

Hello Sifus again.

From your experience and a design perspective, which brand of bicycle have much more robust hinge mechanism? Dahon or Tern.

And how likely can you find replacements for specialized wear and tear parts suck as the hinge lock and bearings?
On another note, does Tern or Dahon cover frame failure in their warranty in Malaysia?

so far,
i know 1 person named hakim bahar from johor already claim the whole frame.his link p8 only broken the hinge screw and not the hinge itself..

actually he was looking for the screw replacement dan tern malaysia replaced it with the new frame immidietly!

Did you widened the frame by 20mm? Wow, that's a lot!

I'd be interested to know if these bikes ride as well as the modern ones. The frames are very heavy it seems.
*
yeah, its quite heavy this frame. will updated the feedback later after all have been completed..

bdwy,
instead if waiting for my 2016 project bike complete, why dont u ask denyhazrin for his feedback on the bike?

Hi all sifus,

I'm planning to buy Tern Verge P20.  Any owners that can shared their experiences on this bike if possible?  I read about Verge P20 that it can go fast onroad and a good hill climber....dunno how true it is, as for my cycling style, I may want to go for both type, but not the jungle road type la....heheh.... and next year I'll be joining the Mountain Climb Challenge  icon_rolleyes.gif , and not sure if this bike can at least help me out for the climb...I knw my own engine need to train up too...  tongue.gif

Currently I have a Garion bike with only 7 speeds, and dun think it can helps if I want to go for other challenging events/activities.
*
i didnt own p20 but own a p9
for what i can say the extra different price between the p9 and p20 money, u can moded easily with the same price but with better component.better get the verge n8 and customized ur own component.

for greater money save, better get dahon vigor instead (same design frame) and get a good road component moded into 20speed.i also mod my p9 to 20speed and already done penang round island and also climb to cameron highland yesterday.

the verge is a good frame and stiff for what i can say.only the component bundle with the p20 a bit pricey imho.but some people like to used their bike stock without any modification, so the p20 will suite. laugh.gif
