I am going to get 2 units Tern Verge N8 and I am only interested in the frame, fork and handlebars an maybe the cable housing. Therefore, there are 2 sets. So, anyone interested in the whole set of components, let me know. Very suitable for those riding a 7 speed folding bike now and wants to upgrade to a rear 11 teeth smallest cog. Most probably the items includes,

01. 8 speed trigger shifter  02. brake levers  03.  V-brake calipers  04.  11/32T cassette,  05. chain  06.  Shimano Claris RD  07.  the OEM 52T crank and chainring with the BB  08. original 406 wheelset with Schwalbe Kojak tires , front and back off course  09. the orginal saddle.

So, PM me if you are interested in these stuffs.    If you don't mind coming here to Taiping I can fix it all on your bike if you want, then maybe can go riding around Taiping.

yes..those transparent stickers..one of the stickers on my dahon somehow got peeled off and i scratch a little bit of paint on the frames during folding. luckily dahon provides extra spare paints for touch up.

right now just solo ride bro. haven't join any cycling groups yet.

last week only manage 87 km..this week got limited amount of time. probably this eve i might go riding makan angin with my kid at taman botanikal.

not all the time i want to use cleat shoe.besides, im using road cleats, so walking would be troublesome for me sometimes santai² only no need to use cleat lah..

anyway, i do know vans urban selling brooks saddle. but that shop are super vip shop if got no sales promo. better go and test, then buy at other shop

The tern verge is so nice! Too bad miss the deal, where verge n8 offered at RM2240. Now according to rodalink boss, n8 is out of stock whole malaysia.

Saw this tern verge x10, sexy piece of machine, but price.... can only afford java fit...😭

Just for eye candy, here's another 16 inch foldie that I assembled for a fellow rider. She has ridden it from Kampar to Sitiawan on it but I think she has since sold it or left it somewhere and got herself a Brompton after falling out with me. The purpose of this setup was , she wanted a smaller and lighter foldie to take on trains and easier to load into her car. It weighs 9.2 kgs with the pedals and everything. It cost her RM3200,  2 years ago.

Now she went the opposite and got a massive 14.2 kg Brompton. Power of enmity, huh ?

Shimano Tiagra RD with Shimano HG cassette 11/28T . Smaller due to the smaller wheelsets. Weinmann rims with Novatec sealed bearing hubs.

Comparison between the 20 inch and the 16 inch. I have a photo comparing it to a Brompton infact and it was about the same but this was much, much lighter and with 20 speed, it rides easier too, don't you think so. I think you can still assemble one at this price today as at that time, I went through another fella to order the components from China.

56 teeth chain ring is OK actually but the largest cassette for 16 inch is quite limited. Because of the ground clearance, long cages seems to touch the ground already if the not adjusted properly. I done one before on 11/32T on a XDS 16 inches foldie but I used SRAM's X7 RD. SRAM has shorter cages. That means you have to hunt for SRAM's shifters as well. The Sora RD should be OK and will work with Altus or Alivio shifters if you want to save some bucks. I think you should limit the rear cassette to 30 teeth. With 56 teeth chainring pairing with 11 teeth at the back, it is quite fast , provided if you have the ability to pedal continuously.

When I say possible , it is not just short burst of speed but more to comfortable cruising speed. I am only good for 18 to 20 km/h at the maximum when riding. But with that speed, I can cruise for 6 to 8 hours, with rest off course. At times my ride ends only at 4 pm when I start riding at 8 am. I am more of a 'makan angin' kind of rider. That's why I don't do much rides in town or city. Mostly scenic places.

Curious how old is your daughter? and what is her current cassette? and what does she/you want to achieve.

anyway 9 speed cassette are economical less than 100 ringgit a pop, buy a few to try out would be the best bet.

I saw in Billy's shop, when his stocks arrived ( I was buying the FD adapter ), there was a few Sora shifters, also just arrived. Why don't you whatsapp him and see if he sells just the right side.

er i kinda have both..chromoly and alloy frame

actually, for long mileage and santai ride, i kinda prefer the chromoly frame. yes, it is heavier, and it's not faster, but's it's much much more comfortable.. so it's kinda enjoyable and relaxing. in fact, now i add the weight a bit more by putting a brooks on it.

my alloy bike is modestly lightened and upgraded..so for more spirited and faster ride, especially such in a group ride with basilgan, I have to use that bike. My heavier chromoly bike would sure put me miles behind the groups and flush my energy faster..

Anybody knows where to get cheap 20" 406 wheelsets? or even just the front wheel if possible?

Some idiot stole my Dahon front wheel arrrggh!
