hey guys, good news for those who had problems with gps (like me). seems like the next update will have it fix already. wooohooo!~

uhmm i didn't really test my actual sot cuz this is not my main phone tho... not much time to play on it. how 'bout yours? I'm on dev rom currently seems to have better battery management.. or perhaps my imagination?

honestly I think it'll take a long time, at least 6 months onwards if we ever see the light of it. xiaomi has made it official this is a china-only phone availability and there is absolutely no word & plans to launch internationally for now. the phone is totally boot locked-down. meaning can't install any custom roms on it. this is the first ever xiaomi take things so seriously... so if you understand this, either you can proceed in buying a china phone OR get a RN2 from xiaomi malaysia which has a proper support for it...

nope. my RN2 no problem with gps. can lock on very fast

just buggy software as expected coz its china only phone for now. heat issue is normal for any phone if u play heavy 3D games otherwise is useable. battery no need to worry at all (4000mAh yo)

but but my RN2 prime is a china set leh... no problem at all. it's a software thing if not hardware design fault

i know but i am still using china rom. not international. fyi i tried beta roms in the early stage also no problem with gps. dunno whats wrong with rn3 also

well guys, let me break it for you... 1 good news, 1 not so good...

theres gps fix in dev rom yay! I tested it this evening. went different places outdoor and indoor. can load up weather app, maps etc and detect location faster than before BUT still fall short behind in reception quality and accuracy. RN2 still faster & more accurate than RN3 gps hands down dunno why... guess we have to accept this fact if wanna live with it

hmm does the set from lazada comes with extra shaddy bloatwares like the rest of the resellers in malaysia?

mine doesn't comes with any because I bought direct from Mi china... so I can't elaborate more on this but from what I observe most people bought from our local re sellers does come with some funny apps like APUS and they can't update via OTA summore. I think there are more of these shady apps hidden in the OS but idk since I don't have one to look at..

back in china when my bro help me to order my rn3 time, he told me the gold&silver were sold out in bulk. and I got tips that PRC ppl don't really support china made phones themself so that got me curious who bought them all? now i know who la lol

version 7.1.1.1 is not an official rom from xiaomi so it does not exist / supported by xiaomi. Also, it contains alot of suspicious apps running behind the background. cautious... because we believe it might steal important information from you...

ya many people bought their phone here comes with this "non existence" rom pre installed. the real question is: why? you see... nobody do something without some benefits/monetary involve especially in business field
so if I were you I 'll be very very very careful with this kind of modified custom roms. we never know whats inside

well you can to try flash it back like how Hirota did it. Word of caution, wrong step will brick your phone so read up everything first and really know what you are doing.

this one is very usable right out of the box. Just need need to install gapps and delete all the china apps, thats it.

the down side is the GPS problem and accuracy. I, myself is very particular and I will test to make sure everything working perfectly... except this part. You see this phone gps configuration got problem. It is not tune correctly to global satelites and the accuracy really bad compare to previous models. Most ppl don't care about it as long as they can use gps outside with waze, not me though. I do testing not just in waze but with gps calibration tools and that's why I found it all the problems with it. Still, living with this fact & trying to hope for the best with future updates... * cross fingers*

ps: tried all ROMS from 7.0.9.0 up until 7.0.19.0, and developer roms from 5.12.10 to 5.12.24. All no fix for gps. Some may feel the gps was fix with the latest build but nope. I tested
