I guest xiaomi will make the sd version to international market. global rom + better gps.

not sure whether miui will develop global rom for mtk rn3 or not, since they never make this device international.

If you don't mind Chinese rom, flash the official 7.0.22. Just remember to stay away from the child mode!

If they make a global rom for SD version, surely we could use it too right? I mean everything is the same except for the processor.

If you want google apps pre-installed, you have to go for the custom roms. But custom roms have no OTA. If you get the official China rom, it has no gapps but it can be installed manually easy enough.
