Did you try to remount and reapply the thermal compound?
Match it with a better fan?

It's lidat 1. The GeminII is only as good as an Arctic Cooling Freezer64 Pro. If compared to Freezer7 Pro oso the GeminII will lose. U can read about it in many reviews. From my own experience oso I got the same results.

RRP for Freezer7 Pro is only rm129. That's y it's Custom PC magazine's all time favorite HSF coz it's cheap n performs well. I've tried it n it's good for up 3ghz on a quad core. Custom PC mag says good for up to 3.6ghz but that's in their cooler weather I suppose.

how much better isit than the Gemin? well, i guess one can't have the best of both worlds, yeah the freezer mayb better, but the gemin compensates that by coolin virtually the whole top of the board, pwm, chipset, ram etc

it's in the lower range. sort of like a mini gemin, with a 120mm fan on it

Good cooler, @ hottest room temp, max load (as in my sig) is 54C. Love it, cools the VRM, NB, & rams albeit compensating for a higher CPU temp compared to other high performers

How does it do with Orthos ? Folding isn't a very aggressive load.
