Not a bad HSF combo per se, although slapping on some sleek Japanflos or Papsts would make it look helluva more 1337

surprisingly the coolermaster geminII / fujin? is cheap ...
sapu-ed 2 biji for myself and another fren at RM 145 each in MyPC the staff said it arrived yesterday ( 2nd March ) and i've took the last 2 piece ok result so far is quite good. I was using stock intel hsf and now this monster with 2 x 120 cm led fans. C2D 6600 @ default speed @ 1.275v Intel hsf --> idle:45c || load:65c geminII --> idle:40c || load:52c |

QUOTE(allenultra @ Mar 4 2007, 01:20 AM) error, just wonder how this heatsink fit on AM2(website stated) then? i guess the manual ( same with the cm website ) has stated clearly. not sure how to explain this but u need to make sure that your am2 board bracket pins is placed converter/bracket in the package? vertically ( facing from up to down ) so that when u mount, the fujin will be installed horizontally. but friendly advice, u better take some mobo and measure it yourself. it has its own am2 bracket/backplate + screws, which means u need to take out the current standardized am2 bracket and use their parts to mount. QUOTE(cablesguy @ Mar 4 2007, 01:20 AM) error, im using as5(now waiting to settle in) and the fan is running around 1200+ rpm with 39+ cfm each. its not the strong / vacuum cleaner type of fans. performance wise is actually quite good coz im using the low cfm fans . futhurmore C2D 6600 is known to run hotter than the E6300,6400. comparing with intel stock hsf. i've actually got 13c off which i think is good enough. can u be more specific ie what TIM, what fan @ what speed, coz judging by the temps, it looks like an avg performer...dont mind me saying so QUOTE(sHawTY @ Mar 4 2007, 01:36 AM) erm .. initially the staff quote me RM 150, haggling + taking 2 units together makes him lowered to RM 145 This post has been edited by error: Mar 4 2007, 02:12 AM |

C2D 6600 @ default speed @ 1.275v Intel hsf --> idle:45c || load:65c geminII --> idle:40c || load:52c i got the same proc with u, E6600, stock speed: Thermaltake Golder Orb II --> idle:36~37c || load:47~49c (using EasyTune 5 --> Giga 945P-S3 mobo) |

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Mar 4 2007, 10:22 AM) Error, have you used other types of aircooling heatsink before this geminii? only use intel stock hsf before switching to this. from my result posted earlier, im quite satisfy with it. from 65c load to 52c. What's your opinion about this geminii compared to your previous air cooling heatsink? QUOTE(E-J@1 @ Mar 4 2007, 04:34 PM) u use what for the temp readings??? im using CoreTemp to read and my mobo is DFI Infinity 975G/X. please use coretemp and post your result again. it might have differences compare to EasyTune 5. i got the same proc with u, E6600, stock speed: Thermaltake Golder Orb II --> idle:36~37c || load:47~49c (using EasyTune 5 --> Giga 945P-S3 mobo) p.s --> i might have a concaved C2D thus higher temp. but the temp differences from intel stock hsf to cm geminII is significant. i tot of bad TIM contact, but im kinda reluctant to take off everything out and remount again, it doesnt use the push-clips mechanism |

actually the size doesn't really obstruct any components. the base / lower layer of the hsf was designed to have a smaller base to fit any boards perfectly. the top part / fan part was the killer. it can almost cover the entire width of board (atx size). Good thing is, the 2 x fan of this hsf were put into a slidable bracket so that u can adjust it just in case let say there was a exhaust fan near the back panel and it is obstructing the hsf. u can slide it away from the exhaust fan to give some clearance.
Furthurmore, most of the casing will not have any other devices directly on top of the mobo, usually the dvdroms, harddisk (for normal space limited casing) will be very close to mobo but not on top of it. With this, the hsf will fit nicely. for reference. I did try it on Gigabyte DS3, and mine DFI Infinitty 975G/X + Lian Li PC07 ( the dvdrom and mobo were very very close) and it fits This post has been edited by error: Mar 6 2007, 12:52 PM |
