Any suggestion? Actually I would like to buy for my mother...

ZTE Blade A452

Don't know why no one mentioned about this phone though.

4000mAH battery, LTE, 13MP camera etc. for only RM 399, can't really ask much.

Hi, need help to suggest a phone to give to my mom

1. Brand: Samsung (she already used to my dad's S4)
2. Budget: ~RM500
3. Specs: Main function is for whatsapp. As I bet she does not know how to clear the memory which will later cause the phone to lag, anything that can help to reduce the lag?
4. Type/Size: Any

Thanking in advance.

Your only choices would be:

Galaxy J1 Ace - RM 389
Galaxy J2 - RM 579

Don't expect smooth performance on low end Samsung phones though, they're known to have sluggish performance. One of my relative bought a J1 Ace, and it was crap, sold it off after few weeks lol. To reduce the lag, don't install too many apps, I guess? biggrin.gif

If casual games, sure can. Unless you're gonna play GTA San Andreas with it.

Lenovo Vibe P1m (RM 589)
Asus Zenfone Max, if u don't mind about the 5.5" screen. (RM 799)

Thanks for your reply, I had check out the Lenovo and seems like a lot of people are complaining about Lenovo phones in general. blink.gif  What about Mi or Samsung?

For Lenovo phones, it depends on which phone you're using. Those older cheap Lenovo phones are known to have issues, just avoid those. Fortunately, I have the chance to use my uncle's Vibe P1m for few weeks. Battery life is excellent, display is good, speaker is acceptable, just that the camera is so-so and screen is a bit unresponsive (but hey, it's a RM 500 phone). So far so good for me.

Xiaomi phones are known for the bang for the buck, but the known flaw is that the software is not optimized well. I experienced that before on the Redmi 1S with 1GB RAM, the software was RAM hungry. But since they update their phones every month, I think it will be addressed after few updates. Since Xiaomi just launched their Redmi Note 3, you should consider it, 16GB/2GB RAM (RM749). Just order it from Xiaomi Malaysia if you want it.

As for Samsung, not being a hater or something, but just avoid it.

Not much cheap phones with nano sim in the market right now, but I found 2. biggrin.gif

ZTE Blade A452 (RM 399)
Xiaomi Redmi 3 (RM 559 imported set by Satugadget)

If you want ZTE, better buy in Lowyat Plaza (Ground floor, there's a ZTE stall at the opposite side of Sony store), just to save your time cuz ZTE phones are generally hard to find aside from Lowyat Plaza. smile.gif

Thanks. I keep reading other people's posting about Xiaomi RN3 (snapdragon 650). Is that good - compare to these phones listed here?  apart from the price.
*
Oh yeah, and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, always forgot about that! biggrin.gif

If you're okay with MIUI, then you should consider it.

does it crash or hang? i read that there are some people complaining about RN3 (snapdragon) having problem sometime connecting to network or need to reboot.

btw, don't fully understand that is this MIUI?

i don't play much game on the phone. but definitely need battery life and external storage capability. use a lot of camera and internet - emails/whatsapp/snapchat/spotify.
*
I think that's a problem with MIUI (the name of Xiaomi's user interface), I've experienced that kind of problem on the Redmi 1S before. Xiaomi is known for not optimizing their software well. But they do update their phones monthly, it can be fixed with a software update, so no worries.

If you want a phone with good specs for under RM 1k, Redmi Note 3 is the best choice for now.

Hi, need opinion on Asus Zenfone Selfie ZD551KL. Is it a good phone? Especially the UI is it easy and nice to use?

I am comparing this phone with the new Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 3GB Ram. Which is more worthwhile?

Thank you.

Redmi Note 3 beats that puny Zenfone Selfie hands down.

Yes that's my opinion in that regards but overall performance Xiaomie redmi note 3 beats Zenfone selfie. Maybe xperiaDROID can give explanations?
*
Yeah, Zenfone Selfie's camera is slightly better than Redmi Note 3. But I think the winner still goes to the Redmi Note 3, unless you're willing to sacrifice the better performance for the slightly better camera.

The price of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is from Xiaomi Malaysia, I suggest you to buy only from www.mi.com/my because it's guaranteed original and you might not get that kind of price from other 3rd party sellers. Just to save your hassle. smile.gif
