Right now, I'm thinking to buy Samsung J7 Prime. but, still thinking if there any other phone can be consider.  or you guys, can comment on pro & cons of J7 Prime? All spec meet my criteria. only based my reading, J7 prime screen is not good and also no protection - corning glass gorilla.

Brand: Any
Budget: RM1300
Spec: latest spec with quality screen, run smooth, no overheat, large battery size. opkos, with my budget range.
4.Type/size: 5.5"

Aside from the lack of some basic sensors and screen protection, it's not a bad phone.

But for the price, you could get something better like...

Lenovo Vibe X3 - http://directd.com.my/vibe-x3-ori
Xiaomi Redmi Note 3
Vivo V3 Max

Hi handsome,

Please enlighten me the reason why we should not buy imported sets, am planning to buy xiao mi5s which is imported. Thanks in advance

While it seemed cheaper in price, you might risk not getting local warranty and will have Chinese-specific bloatware inside. And also no Play Store (unless you know how to install one) included.
*
Yup, you might even face some software issues because the software is made for China which is basically incompatible to regions outside of China. However, you can just flash the global version software but it will be a hassle though.

Unless you know what you're doing, you can proceed with your purchase though.

hi guys,
I want to buy phone for my mom. Between ZTE Blade V7 Max vs Oppo F1S vs Mi max
which one is better? Prefer smooth OS and good camera quality
Thanks

If you don't mind about the size, then I would say Xiaomi Mi Max.

Make sure it's Malaysian set instead of imported set though.

Hi there!
Looking for a phone, as the one I have is dying (Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos). Charging very slowly, battery is dying, and fresh batteries are getting harder to find.

1. Brand: Anything with good support in this country.
2. Budget: STRICTLY RM600 and lower. The lower the better.
3. Specs: At least 2GB RAM, but if the phone has good hardware and is reasonably smooth with 1GB RAM, then that is acceptable. Quad-core should be the new minimum standard now, right? Dual sim support is preferred but lack of it is not a deal breaker.
4. Type/Size: Whatever smartphones are nowadays.

Thank you very much.

can u elaborate? why never buy imported set? they could be installed with spyware / ads ?
the imported sets pricing are very competitive, cheaper than local set :/

im also looking at redmi note 3.. is it a good choise? compare to redmi 3S ?
*
Yup, it will be loaded with Chinese bloatwares and possibly ads as well. Hence, you might even face some software issues because it's not made for international users like us. Save your hassle and get the local set even if it's slightly more expensive, just my two cents.

As for Redmi Note 3 and Redmi 3S, Redmi Note 3 is an overall better phone than Redmi 3S. Just that Redmi 3S is just a little bit better than Redmi Note 3 in terms of battery life, but not much difference anyways.

noted bro, in this case, may I know those seller claim redmi note 3 with global ROM is consider local set?
how about seller like directD ? are they also selling local set?
thanks~
*
Nope, they stated that it comes with "12 months warranty by DirectD" instead of Xiaomi Malaysia, so it's not a local set. Plus, the price they're selling is way cheaper than the local set (I know it's tempting lol).

Since it comes with global ROM, I think that should work fine for us international users, as long it's not China ROM. If you want cheap, then go for it.

If you live in KL or wherever that's near the capital, I would suggest you to pay them a visit before proceeding your purchase just to make sure that it's really running on global ROM. If not, then you should give them a call.

Hi, i would like to find a new phone. basicly i have survey as Huawei P9, Oppo F1 plus and samsung A9 pro. I cant make my decision to choose which 1 of them, any recommendation based on these 3 or any other recommendation?
1. Brand: any
2. Budget: around RM2k
3. Specs: good performance, durable, seldom lag
4. Type/Size: 5" and above
smile.gif
Btw, i also found that oneplus 3 is good, but always not available for sell other than imported unit.
*
Forget the Oppo F1 Plus, you're gonna be paying a lot for peanuts.

Between Huawei P9 and Samsung A9 Pro, both will serve you well. But my vote goes to the Huawei P9.

As for OnePlus 3, DirectD's website shows that the local set is still in stock.

1. Brand: Any good brand

2. Budget: MYR 2,000

3. Specs: 4GB Ram at least, good camera with stabilizer (going to use for video recording a lot) - gonna put on gorillapod stand, good screen and no lags when needed the most.

4. Type/Size: at most 5.5".

Is there any recommendation for mainly video capturing? This will not be my main video recording however, just want to make it as a point&shoot kind of camera.

I am considering Op3 but some reviewers said in YT this phone is not that good in video capturing.

Thanks guys!
*
OnePlus 3 is fine in video capturing for the price.

If you take a look at similar priced phones, there's ZTE Axon 7, Huawei P9, Microsoft Lumia 950, Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+.

ZTE Axon 7 - Camera is mediocre
Huawei P9 - Camera is good but video recording is mediocre and it lacks OIS
Microsoft Lumia 950 - Camera is good but only if you're okay with Windows Phone
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ - Camera is good but it's 5.7"

So, I think OnePlus 3 suits all of your requirements.

Hey there, thanks for your recommendations.

I was considering Huawei P9, but I don't take pictures that much sweat.gif kinda a waste for me..
ZTE Axon 7 looks nice but the camera is not that great for video capturing..

Op3 however it is hard to get in hand now since everywhere is out of stock. I'd love to test it by hand before purchasing it. This thing is rare! tongue.gif

If I add a few hundred bucks more, will there be more options?

I am looking at Nexus 6P, with discount from directd, but I heard the camera is hard to utilise. I am more to open-and-use kind of guy xD

LG G5 looks fantastic though, the camera. I watched a video by SuperSafTV, the video capture is good but lacks stabilization.

So hard to decide which one to go sweat.gif

edit: Oops, I forgot to put this xD I am more to stock OS rather than root, I like to keep it simple..
*
Have no fear, DirectD is here!
http://directd.com.my/oneplus-3-ori

If you can add more, go for LG G5 and it does have optical stabilization.

Does G5 perform better than Op3 though?

The more I research about Op3, I feel like I want to lean to other phones now haha
*
Both using the same chipset, so performance shouldn't be that much of a difference.

But keep in mind that OnePlus 3 has 6GB RAM and the UI is very close to stock Android, it should perform slightly better than LG G5. Also, OnePlus 3 is better than LG G5 in terms of battery life.

If camera really matters to you, just go for LG G5. It's packing more than enough specs for the run of few years.

Hey dude, just got my phone today. Just want to say thank you for the recommendation. The Redmi 3S is awesome. Very very quick, everything is smooth, although the hybrid nanoSIM/microSD slot is a bit annoying. Still, never in my life have I ever needed more than 2-3 GB of space anyway. I don't really take pictures or listen to music with my phone, so whatever is left of the 16GB ROM is more than enough.
*
Glad to know that you're enjoying your new phone. biggrin.gif

how much is that, within the RM700-800 price range? Because i am looking one at that price. Could i get 3GB ram at least, 32GB internal memory, 5 inch or more screen, close to stock android UI, long lasting battery? Good camera is a bonus but not main criteria. I don't want Asus brand though.
*
Xiaomi Redmi 3S is way cheaper than that price range, but it has only 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage and it's running on MIUI which is different from stock Android lol.

If you're okay with a UI that looks different, I would recommend the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and Meizu M3S.
If you really prefer UI that's close to stock Android, go for Alcatel Flash Plus 2.

Any recommendations of Android phone that around 1k and below which have internal 32gb, support SD, more RAM better..

Can take photo while taking photo at the same time.

OS wise MUST able to read write delete internal memory unlike redmi note 1 which is write protected sad.gif

You can go for LG Nexus 5X, if you don't mind the lack of SD support, but it does have 32GB internal storage though.

Phones with screen size less than 4.5" are rare nowadays.

If you don't mind screen size being a bit bigger like 4.7"-4.8", there's Wiko Highway Pure, Nokia Lumia 735 and Microsoft Lumia 550.

Xiaomi Redmi 3S all the way.

A friend of mine is using the Lenovo Vibe K5, the only good thing is the speakers. In other words, the UI is kinda laggy, screen is a bit unresponsive, camera is just mediocre.
