Hi guys, looking to upgrade from Samsung Note 4. Please suggest me a good phone thanks.
1. Brand: Any except Asus
2. Budget: around rm2.5k, the lesser the better since the phone is for a female.
3. Specs:
- Better camera than Samsung Note 4
- Better in every aspect of Samsung Note 4
- Durable battery life
- Waterproof, dustproof, foolproof. (MUST)
4. Type/Size: 5" - 5.5" since was using Note 4 with 5.5" before.

Currently thinking of buying Samsung S7 non edge, not sure if it's the right choice...
*
Just go with the Galaxy S7.

Or you can wait for the Sony Xperia XZ, it's coming very soon.

Around rm500 I think.  Your choice  only blackberry q5.  Use gemfive or lazada to get discounts.  Becones around 400

I second this.

If you want a cheap phone with buttons and supports Whatsapp, look no further than BlackBerry Q5.

Get from Gemfive and use the MORE15 code during checkout.

Hi, may i know Xiao mi Max 32GB good for gaming/ watch movie?
Please advise about the phone.

Gaming won't be an issue, the chipset is powerful enough.

As for watching movies, you know the experience is gonna be great with that huge screen.

Hi guys.

My HTC M8 is broken and I'm trying to find a new phone which is available now.
Below are the details:

1. Brand: Any
2. Budget: Around RM3000 (preferably below)
3. Specs:
- Phone that uses Adreno 530/430 GPU and is readily available now in Msia
- These phone usually uses Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 or 810
- More than 2GB RAM / 16GB ROM (not compulsory)
4. Type/Size: 5"-6" which can fit easily in pocket
*
Since you're coming from a phone with dual stereo speakers, I would recommend...

ZTE Axon 7
Sony Xperia XZ (starts selling on 7 Oct)
HTC 10

Or just go with what lylee73 recommended if you want cheaper.

ZTE Axon 7 - RM 2000. But the availability of Dolby speaker and WQHD screen is tempting!
Sony Xperia XZ - Thanks for the release date. I was actually planning to buy this one if there are no other good choices.
But seems like there are other flagship killer phones. Really liked this once because it's waterproof, has good sound feature (aptX) and 4K video.
HTC 10 - About the same price as Xperia XZ (around RM2700).
Nothing much "new" compared to my phone except OIS and screen.
Really hate HTC SW team ever since they've removed OTG, Blinkfeed, HTC backup & video cam feature.
Samsung Galaxy S7 is out. Not gonna go through the hassle buying this phone due to bad review of the battery.

I'll check YT review and then decide which one is the best IMO.
Also would like your opinions on ZTE and Xiaomi aftersales service (especially in JB).
*
Not sure about the aftersales service for both brands though, but ZTE offers 2 years warranty, free one-time screen damage repair (first 6 months) and free one-time water damage repair (within 24 months warranty) for the Axon 7.

Hence, there's one service center (Highpoint JB) located at
17, Jalan Sri Plentong 3, Taman Perindustrian Sri Plentong,
81750 Masai, Johor.

Hello. I'm in a need for a new phone, my Xperia Z1 is running on fumes.

1. Brand. - I prefer one that easy to claim warranty. So any really
2. Budget. - Max RM 2K
3. Specs. - Better than Xperia Z1 especially the battery and screen.
4. Type/Size. - Bigger the better

I've been looking at LG Stylus 2 Plus but can't seem to find a good review and what's the specifications for Malaysian set. Read it differ from region to region
*
My recommendations would be...
Huawei Mate 8
Xiaomi Mi Max
Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro
ZTE Axon 7

As for the LG Stylus 2 Plus, it's mid range at it's best. The specs are...
- Snapdragon 430, octa core processor
- 5.7" 1080p IPS LCD screen
- 16 MP camera
- 3GB RAM, 16GB internal storage
- 3000 mAh battery

how 'bout samsung J1 mini ?
"hang" alot ?
btw, is it advisable to buy the so called "made in Malaysia" phones?
*
Better avoid Samsung phones in that price range, and J1 Mini has less than 1GB of RAM. It will definitely "hang".

As for the "made in Malaysia" phones, it's not worth it. The specs are just like what you get in cheap Samsung phones.

4. Type/Size: <=5.5 inch display.

Best bang for the buck, looking at Redmi Note 3/4, hopefully there's a better alternative for around that price.

which is best bang for a buck? all under rm300.
Huawei Y5C
Zenfone go 4.5
Lenovo a1000

I would say Huawei Y5C because the camera is slightly better than the other two, but the battery life isn't that good. If you want better battery life, go for the Lenovo A1000, but it's lacking some basic sensors like proximity sensor which would be annoying when making calls.

Just remember these phones are low end, so don't push them too hard like playing heavy graphic games and open many apps at once.

And yes, J1 Mini is crap. Seriously, just don't buy it.
