Getting last year flagships always better choice. Given we are at the era of high price flagships.
Galaxy S9 / Mi 8 / P20 Pro / OnePlus 6

QUOTE(imcrazyz @ Oct 31 2018, 02:02 PM)
I need some phone recommendations based on these criterias:

1. Brand: Google, OnePlus, Sony

2. Budget: Around RM1500 (Not sure if I can trade in my Oppo Find 7a)

3. Specs: Good battery, smooth, no major bugs, good storage, able to flash custom ROM, running Android Oreo or Pie

4. Type/Size: Larger than 5"
*
1500 can afford OnePlus last gen or Nokia je.

Hi NightFelix, how about RM2000?
*
I think you are more into CustomROM in case warranty out or no more future update.

Try look into OnePlus 6.

Between p20pro and s9, which one has a better camera?
*
I like both. Thats why I recommend both.
You should try out your own and see which suit your taste.

Not entirely wrong. As long as the phone will be supported by the developer for at least 3 years down the road then it'd be good. I am not a tech savvy guy to flash custom ROM, but hope that this new phone I am buying has the latest features (android Pie) at the moment. If the dev does not continue to update then I have the option to flash custom ROM, that's my plan.

Of course, not only able to flash ROM but also the criteria I stated in my first post.

I will look into the specs of OnePlus 6.

1) By the way, how much is it right now? Different websites give different prices.. Don't know which one is legit..

2) I'll buy it from physical shop instead of from online shop. Where can I get it? I live around Klang valley.
*
Better ask at OnePlus 6 thread, they will give you the best answer.

Thanks buddy, will do.
By the way, how about Google Pixel 2xl or 3 / 3xl?
Would you recommend them over OnePlus6?

If let's say my budget increases to rm3000 now.

The good thing I heard from people about Pixel is that Google will still keep updating the ROM for them even after 3 years from release. As for Oneplus6, the developer doesn't care about older builds' update when they release newer phone. This is one of my concern.

But overall, including features, hardware and software comparison, which one you recommend most?
*
Either get Pixel 3 / 3 XL if your budget can go further.
Otherwise go for OP6/6T

Pixel 2XL have hardware degrading issues after a year.

Hi there, currently using Huawei Mate 10 Pro for almost 3 years already (am satisfied with its usage and spec, but its getting old and laggy), previously used iphone 4. Wish to further upgrade for a newer huawei Mate series but with the recent huawei hoo haa, best try to seek alternatives or advice before proceeding.

1. Brand.
Any (Huawei last resort)
2. Budget.
Any
3. Specs.
Doing on sales line so heavy duty of whatsapp and phone calls usage. High storage space and long lasting battery preferably. Recently got hooked into Pokemon Go so that's another burden to the phone commitment to suit my need of a high performance phone.
4. Type/Size.
Any

Not looking for recommendation here, just wondering whether I should fix my phone with broken glass or get a new phone. I've been using a Nova 2i and I'm mostly satisfied with the performance although there's lag when using Google Maps and certain games. The phone's glass is broken now and I wonder whether it's better to fix it or just get a new phone instead because the 2nd hand value of the phone is quite low to begin with.

keep in the drawer for backup.
LCD RM207
Labor RM60

RM267 total. You topup abit more get a new phone with 12 months warranty.
Not to mention battery started to degrading since Nova 2i quite old.

Yeah that make sense, thanks. I'll look around on 12/12 and see what offer's available. I'll probably get a Mi A3 or top up more for global set Mi Mix 3.

Not looking back at Huawei/Honor series?

Xiaomi go for Mi9T what. or budget dont have that high, look for Note 8 (non-Pro)

Any great phone below rm2k guys?

Is it worth it to get the xiaomi note 10? Good camera. But the snapdragon 730 and the gpu kinda turn me off. I tried the phone last night. Took photo w the 108mp camera, then lag on the spot for a few seconds.

Any good suggestion? Iphone 11 or note 10? Or just wait till next year? Using iphone 8plus now. Battery only drop performance.
*
I only recommend OnePlus 7 Pro to iPhone users.

Otherwise, go for iPhone 11 (non Pro) 128GB.

Huawei's spec is nice but I'm not really a fan of it's software. Also I just saw used global set Xperia XZ2 selling for around RM600 on Shopee, do you think that's a good idea? Snapdragon 845 and Sony's touch at that price point sounds tempting  biggrin.gif
*
RM600 you won't expect hardware warranty support for used/import stuff. Anything in the future is on your own.
