Sorry to say this but EY is not hiring anyone this year to cut costs.

Yeah, I'm serious shakehead.gif

All partners partners/directors voluntarily cut their salaries so they can retain staff cry.gif

And no one is resigning (I was planning to lol) after peak season coz it's hard to get job post covid icon_question.gif

Frankly, it's quite a bad time for you guys to apply any Big4 right now with the current pandemic still ongoing. The financial performance plummeted really hard this year...like in my assurance department line only 3 people got promoted to senior. I feel bad for those associates Year 2 bcoz they've been working so freaking hard console.gif

But on the bright side, more opening for assurance job since many staff are going to tender resignation icon_rolleyes.gif including me dry.gif

I interviewed with E* last week for audit 6 month contract position. I wonder if they r not offering me full time position because I have no experience, although I applied for tax but they freeze the hiring. I wanna ask your advice, if I am rather an introvert, is audit a suitable career?
*
I worked at **. Hmm..I am an extremely introvert guy and struggling with my stutter sometimes (even during the f2f interview cry.gif). But over time, my communication skill is getting better as on several rare occasions, I need to lead the call with clients- I just need to be well-prepared what to be discussed prior the call sweat.gif If in doubt, just ask your seniors, they would help (even if they're reluctant) since it is one of their KPIs to help the new joiners and associates bruce.gif Hence in my opinion, audit is quite a suitable career for a shy person since most of the time we are behind the computers

And speaking of the 6 months contract position, we just had a townhall session recently and one of the questions raised was regarding the shortage of staff since many has resigned/tendered and the partner said the HR has been actively recruiting new staff. The firm's financial is recovering and I think if everything is going on the right direction for the next few months, most probably the contract one will be absorbed as permanent staff. But if the worse-case-scenario happens, at least your resume will look good tho and your future employability is higher.

My uni friend has tried to apply at ** 3 times, but still got rejected last week.

will big 4 pay for your ACCA annual fees?
*
For EY, can claim until RM500 max for the annual fee. Usually GBP112 costs around +-RM620
