It is going to be hard for your wife to find your job if she is pregnant.

My wife is already working for a couple of years when she got pregnant. Took a year off for maternity, which is pretty common here. And child is in day care since. There are baby as young as 6 months in day care, very rarely less then that. Most child care doesn't take baby less then 6 months anyway.

Lots of Chinese get their parents/parents in law here to help out. Unless your parent/parent in law is already staying here permanently, I don't think it is wise to fly them here just to take care of your kid. It is your kid after all, you and your wife should be responsible for him/her.

Some other work around both parents schedule, i.e. work part time, work different hours, work from home a day. You'll find a way based on your own circumstances, everyone is different.

I thought there is a gov sponsor for child care for those who migrate there?

Do you mean subsidies from the government?
Yes you do. But the amount u get back is minimal. And it also depends on the salaries you are on, and the assets you own.
In certain scenarios, it may not be worthwhile for the wife to return to work, as after daycare charges, the net benefit of working is minimal.

Day care averages AUD80-100 per day (6-8hrs) - assuming 5 working days per week x 52 weeks per annum you're looking at AUD23k per year. The rebate like what been shared only covers a small portion - AUD7.5k per child and that's subjected to eligibility.

The benefit is known as Child Care Rebate or CCR.
