if your wife not working, she can get 300 to 500/mth. if u didn't own a house, there's rental allowance say 50/week
your kids will get almost 50% deduction on daycare. medicare covers the most but there's a queue going on.
dental care is cosmetic here. medicare covers it BUT the ubat bius you need to pay which may cost you almost $1000. that's why some of us here went back Malaysia to do which is very cheap.

If you and your wife have stable income, can think about private insurance. this insurance is far different from malaysia. not to disrespect to malaysian insurance agent, the package backhome is blood sucking. in KL, i paid almost RM6000/annum for whole family. where else over here i paid AUD187/mth for family of four. got a dental floss service free, glasses for free each year, massage....worthwhile to get.

Thanks for the details, man.

That's FTB. That's when you're one income only. my wife received some payment there every month. once she starts working, *poof* all gone.
*
Nemesis, what's she working as ? Seems like her current salary is quite good.

Not yet la. just wait. sometimes the officer still having holiday. biggrin.gif

Actually, Nemesis, when I first got ITA, I submitted all docs including medical and police clearance. Then subsequently, on 7th of April, my case officer, who is a lady, asked me to submit additional docs to prove my previous employment. So I had to beg my company for as many salary slips as possible together with my offer letter. I submitted 6 months of slips for every year up to ten n had to beg my boss to reprint them since my company has migrated to a new system long ago. They don't keep hard copies of the slips. I attached everything on the 14th of April. Now after almost 3 weeks, I have received nothing. I am worried. You previously said you waited 2 months for your visa to be granted and recently said it only takes 2 weeks or so after they ask you for full set of docs. Seems like things are getting worse here. cry.gif

Thanks for the add up.
Your internet is cheap. I'm paying Telstra for $100/mth with shitty service. Why? coz my suburb don't have NBN, only adsl. Gonna change the telco soon to iinet.
Home phone is $hit. no even touching it for 6 mths dy....sometimes an anonymous calling for survey, telemarketeer with indian or phillipino accents...sorry, not to disrespect to both nationalities but what i'm trying to say the actual event i have so far...
Paying prepaid for $30/mth from optus. hmmm.....reminds me of getting a new phone....s7edge maybe?
*
Mobile service is that cheap ? How much storage do they give you ?

They need time to check your background. I think they must have made some calls to your previous employer. dry.gif

I put in the name and contact of my boss as my referee as I have been with the same company for ten years. I am scared if they can't reach my boss and get their info from the other staff instead, I might get screwed if they don't know anything about me or give them false info. Then later if the info does not tally, I will get rejected and banned. icon_question.gif

You're just over reacted mate. Just wait and be patient. No point of being pushy.

As 50cents advise, this is the malaysian mentality of being pushy and rush. you won't get anywhere with this attitude.

sorry being harsh but if you bring this mentality here, you'll face a very hard time with the local Ozzies  dry.gif

Thanks Nemesis. I accept your constructive criticism, and do feel there is a lot of room of improvement for me. Another question, if I do not get a reply in 2 months like you did, should I contact them directly ? hmm.gif

Thanks. Will do as per your advice. When they contacted your boss last time, did James teach you how to answer or your boss to answer the questions ? Mind to share more on this part ? Thank you very much. smile.gif

Similarly to PR, your company's HR will provide you with a HAP no which you will need to arrange with a Australian approved clinic for check up. When are you expected to start anyway? I was offered in June 13, visa application only started in Jan 14 and work commence mid Feb 14.

Wow, you got it so fast in less than 2 months.

they'll need more time since you provided limited docs, mine was quite fast as i provided payslips and banks statements since the day i got employed

just try email them and ask if there's anything else that they need... which did you get? GSM brisbane or adelaide?
*
Not limited docs but a complete set of docs consisting of my payslips for ten years. For each year, I provided 6 months of slips. The slips are basically the same for each month unless there is an increment. If that's not enough, I will have to provide each month for ten years which would be hundreds of copies of slips. Now that the IT system has changed, they will need to reprint in another format and to be signed by the director for each month, wow ! I don't think the staff will print for me unless I ask them for a special favour and also my boss to beg them. As for bank statements, I don't have my old bank books with me and there is no monthly bank statement for me. My account does not come with a bank book, only ATM card. If I am going to ask the bank to retrieve the records for me, I don't know how complicated it would be, as I have switched bank accounts before.

I did email them and got no reply. They only asked for employment evidence and a completed form 1221 which I gave them after begging the HR staff to print out all the slips mentioned. My reply is under GSM Brisbane. Please advise me accordingly. Thank you. confused.gif

usually form 80 will suffix, if they require form 1221, then some information is lacking...

that's what i did, lucky thing i kept all my payslips... i provided 11 years worth of payslips and bank statements, i even paid the bank to extract past years account statements... it is stated that info to be provided on best effort... you just need to prove that your best...

i provided them whatever employment references i submitted to ACS, and my boss didn't tell me if she got any verification call or not, i presume they didn't
*
Did you get all the slips certified ? That's pretty expensive. I gave the offer letter and employment reference, of course, including tax records and saving account details.

No verification ? That's lucky of you. biggrin.gif

Should you be given the choice to settle down permanently in Australia or Singapore, which would you choose and why?
Considering the ease of doing business, raising families, cultural similarities, cost and quality of living inclusive of education and healthcare, etc...
Everyone have their own reasoning, but I'm really interested to hear you take  especially for those who are holding multiple PRs or even citizenships *cough* smile.gif

nope, no certification since its just supporting docs... tax records? you mean EA forms? you got all those translated?

i only worked in 2 companies and both i got my bosses to write my reference letters... i read employment verification is random and they just want to find if someone is faking their info...

and don't worry too much about getting banned cos it usually happens if you claim points in your EOI, accepted the invitation and proceeded with the visa application but unable to prove those points

chill bro, give them some time smile.gif
*
Thanks. Yes, had to translate those docs as well. You worked in 2 companies and managed to keep all slips. Wow, you are so meticulous.

Well, I used all the docs gotten and certified by my employer to prove my case. Don't know if they are satisfied or not. Or perhaps they might think some of my data is fake as I do not have full slips and some bank statements ? ohmy.gif

not necessary, cos from what i found out, general CO's, 75% of the docs usually will be sufficient... maybe you just got a very fussy CO that's all tongue.gif

Thanks. Maybe I will have to beg the HR staff to print all slips for another 6 months for every year just to have 100% complete docs for her. blush.gif

you shouldn't complaint about taxes if you are expecting a better quality of life here in Australia.

if one expect a good life in their pension years, then tax got to be right for it then, if not; where else the funds going to come from? your children's? laugh.gif
*
Bolehlanders pay high taxes too, including toll n various government service charges. Overall, the rate is about the same for both or even higher than Australia. smile.gif
