why need to talk like this one meh?

you asked me...

I answered:
if u do not understand the above i try again...
see this Ah Tan...
call me...
and said...
buy this one....
sure up one in the future...

my answer...
based on past experiences...
such setup (u know this meaning ah? it means ... this is what the trader is looking at... based on the chart itself)
... and setups...
for some setup... some traders are comfortable... they feel got good chansi to win...
for others setup.... some traders are not comfortable.... they feel got good chansi they might lose

and IN CASE you don't remember...
i dun trade every stock that comes my way...
I am ultra super selective...
cos I trade only 1 or 2 stocks per go...
so I am not gonna itchy backside and bet on every single stock...
see this is not to say all these stocks got no chansi.... in fact sometimes they do...

but I am I...
I play only to what my limited skill sets allows me to...
I am not gonna screw everything that comes my way....
in short...
I dun need to be a hero...

just saying la...
my way...
U dun have to follow

so u understand or no understand the meaning of ...
I am not comfortable with such setup?

and NO I DO NOT WANT TO BET WITH YOU.

no need...

if I am wrong...
I am wrong...

no die one...
opinions dun kill one...

Can you see the 2 long candles?

1) the long black candle and its rather high volume?

2) the stock retraced back ...  yes, the volume was lower if compare to the 2 long candles ....
BUT the worry is the VOLUME was consistently higher compared to recent times...

and yes....

I do not like such setups...

accidents can and tend to happens on setups that I am not comfortable with....
there....
done.
Just saying out lout my 3 sen opinion ...
no need to bet one....
if you think I am wrong....
never mind lo...

U only trade 2 stocks then means u always top up same stock? Is it blue chip that's y so confident?

There are a few ways.

That one I so happen open a few quarterly reports and saw the chart.
Sometime you can use online platform and sort by column, eg PE ratio etc.
Sometimes you can use a stock screener as someone mention few pages back.
If you have a list of stock code, stock names and some other info in a spreadsheet or database, you can find that way too.

Best method is people just say what stock when they post.  Or we ask politely for the stock if they don't mention it.

Yalo just say la. Not will get sue or what doh.gif

I think what Boon3 means is that he only focuses on 1 or 2 stocks at a time. Not buy 10 or 20 and keep. So after selecting and buying those 1 or 2 stockes, he waits until the profit is enough and sells. Then he finds another 1 or 2 stocks (most likely different ones) and repeats.
*
I c. Thnx for the info. I also do similar. Where can pick 10-20 stock at a time haha. I tot boon only hold 1-2 stock which is weird

Maybe we should look at the value of the company and not the price?

If Company A (a penny stock) sells at RM0.50 per share and Company B (a stalwart) sells at RM12.00 per share, if both prices drop to zero, you will still suffer a 100% loss.

I would rather take my chances and buy Company B.

My 2 cents worth as usual...

P/S:  Nestle is for long term investment. I don't think it will turn into a ten bagger anytime soon. smile.gif
*
Ya I know. But value is also related to the price. At current price does not justify its value.

Give you example...

Stock used to high 4+, almost 5 bucks.
It then starts to fall.
Soon to hit 3.20.

Itchy liao.
Value... blah blah blah....

So say buy at  3.00 (notice not 3.20 hor)

1,000 shares at 3.00.
Outlay 3000

Grandfather shop...
so no need tis & tat charges + fees.

stock rally to 3.20 ++
feeling so so clever...

but then suddenly fall back again...

soon 2.80.

2.80 ah? value wo...
buy more la.

buy another 1,000 shares.
So now own 2,000 shares.
Outlay 3000 + 2800 = 5800

Stock fall again.
ranting.gif

buy another 1000 at 2500
Outlay now 2500 + 5800 = 8300
Own 3000 shares

Stock fall again

This time at 2.50
dare now buy.

Stock fall to 2.00...
  vmad.gif  mad.gif

this time buy 2,000 shares at 2.00
Outlay now 4000 + 8300 = 12,300
Now own 5000 shares
Stock fall again...

Now 1.80.
Scared but still want to average down.
Add another 2000 shares.
Outlay now 3600  + 12300 = 15900
Now own 7000 shares.

Average cost = 2.27
Share price now 1.80
Now get this...

From an investment of 3000, it's now an investment of 15900 !!!

See how the average down game just ballooned out of hand ?

define value.

Value is the worth or something. So if the price u buy is too high it will not be worth the price. Example is nestle it is good investment that can give u X% consistent return. If price u pay too high then the x% will be so low that it is not worth the value anymore

try define value in the form of calculation that's easily understood if you can.

Very complex calculation la. Need to calculate the intrinsic value over current market cap.

Just to give simple explain is imagine a money machine can print rm100 note per month for you. If I sell u the machine at Rm1k its good value. If I sell u at rm1million not good value lo. Just like nestle stock

Divvy 2% is low. But for its size only pe 10 is worth looking into. Many factor can affect the pe.

Cos I dun agree tnb is good stock then u say like dat liao. Low pe doesn't mean good stock.

If it price doesn't grow then no point right unless u invest for 2% divvy

That's the point I'm trying to make.
How can one quote "If it price doesn't grow then no point right unless u invest for 2% divvy".

I really dunno how the share price will go, I'm not god.
I do my homework, fit my plan, then I invest.

So one shouldn't have said that right?  yawn.gif

If we really know how exactly the price will go all of us kaya lo~
*
Ya agree with your point. I'm not saying tnb is bad stock. In fact it's a good company with its monopoly on the energy sector. Just that I won't put my money in before looking deeper just only base on the pe. There are many other factors like roe and growth of the company which I haven't look into. That's y I can't give my analysis. Tonight I research then give my view point.

Back to pink spider yes I have read a lot of books on investing like random walk on Wall Street, security analysis, chart analysis, etc

Some stocks like maybank the price just fluctuate at certain level. It will grow but maybe in 10 yrs time. Very slow

That is wrong use of TA, if the price start going up, it will show you the time to buy in so you will not miss the boat. TA not only show the bottom price (support) but also the higher price (breakthrough) for you to get in.

I myself is just learning to combine FA and TA..  wink.gif
*
So we enter when ta show uptrend? Then cannot get lowest price haha

I wanna learn TA and FA.. please use this thread to discuss both TA and FA..

FA takes care of your risk by analyzing the prospect of the business and using MOS while TA maximizes your return by having a good entry and exit.. it's good if we can combine the best of both worlds..

From time to time if I discover anything with potential, I will post it here for sharing and discussion..

That way, we can improve on our trading/investing..

Thanks..
*
Ta can only give u a bit advantage. It's more beneficial for trader going profit in short term and go for the next profit.

If investing for long term not much advantage to get the 0.01 or 0.1 cents difference.

I use this ratio in all my analysis. It is almost useless at normal times but when shit hits then it is not useless. It's like insurance when u r healthy u don't need it. When u kena accident masuk hospital then u start searching for it.

Example is during crisis if a company has bad cash flow ratio or high debt/equity then u know which company can survive and which 1 will gulung tikar
