Tried to feed my amel corn with frozen mice around 6pm(already soaked in hot water and dried with tissue paper). The
amel just lick lick and no touch. Last feeding was Saturday after he shed.
Then around 8pm got fresh supply of live mice from Bro tikusniaga. Saw amel head from the hide door. Took one
live mice by its tail and hang around the door. Less than 2 seconds the amel strike and constrict the mice. I think it
just took 5~10 seconds then the mice is lifeless... Almost got a heart attack cause I didn't expect the corn will
strike and didn't see him coming.....
From now on will only feed him with live mice.... Bro tikusniaga... looks like will visit you every month until my male
mice can do his job properly....

Har? Who told you to soak in hot water? That is the wrong way, no wonder didn't eat lah. You make the frozen mouse unsuitable for it.amel just lick lick and no touch. Last feeding was Saturday after he shed.

Never soak a frozen rat or mouse directly in hot water..... it heats it up but never defrosting properly.
You should follow like what nugget said, put in a zip lock bag. If don't have, then balut in plastic bag till no water can go in and let the bag sit in a bowl of normal tepid water. Check after an hour to see if fully defrost or not. Never go for short cut and never put frozen prey into direct water....
Corn snakes are like dustbins, they are never picky. Both mine eat frozen, dead and live prey.... don't even care what species of prey, as long prey to them they would eat.
Also, hanging by the tail for it when still alive is risky, you have to prekill the mouse. Not hang it live.... today it may be ok but some day, another mouse may be smarter and bite back to injure your snake.
