QUOTE(Araes @ Oct 5 2007, 02:47 PM) Ha, i just wanted to post this. I rather get the US version. If SEA version only can play on SEA server, then, there isnt much a point to get it.I would suggest pre-ordering from IAH but first make sure that you really want it because there will be no cancellations. This pre-order is open to all Asean customers and is open from Oct 4 2007 to 25 Oct 2007. If you want to play in US servers I suggest you get the US version as SEA version might not be able to play on US servers. Its because they use a different registration keys. US version will allow you to play on all servers but elite subscription rates are tied the region you play in. QUOTE(YooNJuN @ Oct 6 2007, 11:25 AM) I asked TSB staff yesterday , they are getting the SEA version from IAHGames , but there are still some issue need to be finalized 1st.. Do they have US version? If not,i'll get it in Aus next year.I dont want a SEA version. They hope to start taking pre-orders after Raya... |

QUOTE(heaven @ Oct 6 2007, 04:58 PM) If ur getting the US version, better get it outside of Aus as the games there have imba price, it is cheaper to ship it here than to buy at a shop in Aus, redeye84 told me so and his in Aus. I know, but the problem is,i dont have a credit card to order online. With the same amount of money to buy a copy of Hellgate in Aus,you can buy 2-3 of the same game in Malaysia.I'll only buy there if i really cant find a US copy here. |

QUOTE(Araes @ Oct 18 2007, 10:22 AM) Hellgate: London Gone Gold! Single Player Demo coming tomorrow! I dont care where is the demo gonna be available as long as it's fast,it's resumable and the file is not ridiculously big.QUOTE HELLGATE(tm): LONDON GOES GOLD, DEMO COMING THIS WEEK The creators of Diablo are cracking open the Hellgate before Halloween San Francisco, CA (October 16, 2007) - Demons of London beware! Your reign of terror is officially coming to an end! Electronic Arts, Namco Bandai Games, and Flagship Studios are excited to announce that Hellgate(tm): London has gone to gold master and will be available exclusively for the PC on October 31st in North America. "This has been an amazing journey for us and we couldn't be more proud of what we've accomplished," said Flagship Studios CEO, Bill Roper. "We're anxious to get Hellgate: London into gamers' hands and we can't wait to play right along with them." And for gamers who can't wait until Halloween to get their Demon-slaying on, Flagship Studios is releasing a singleplayer demo this Thursday, October 18th. The singleplayer demo represents just a small taste of the Hellgate: London experience. Gamers can choose from two of the game's six character classes: the Blademaster, a master of swordplay and action-packed melee combat, or the Marksman, a cool, calculating, long-range specialist. In the demo, these heroes are able to battle through a small handful of storyline and side quests as they adventure through the streets and tunnels around London's Holborn Station. Hellgate: London combines the depth of role-playing games and the action of first-person shooter titles, while offering infinite playability with dynamically generated levels, items, enemies, and events. Whether online or off, a player creates a heroic character, completes quests, and battles through innumerable hordes of demons to advance through experience levels and branching skill paths. A robust, flexible skill and spell system, highly customizable appearances, and a massive variety of randomly generated equipment allow players to create their own unique hero. Hellgate Halloween is fast approaching! Stay tuned for more news at: www.hellgatelondon.com. Ok... Hellgate has adware.
QUOTE Now I know why that guy was pissed. Unsurprisingly, it looks like the newly released Hellgate: London demo contains some in-game advertisement. Disgruntled community members are voicing their opinions to Voodoo Extreme's Andrew Burns: Several angry emails have entered my inbox because people installing the newly released Hellgate: London demo have noticed that the game includes adware, advertising that is integrated into software. Here's the pertinent section of the license you have to agree to abide by once Hellgate is installed onto your system: The Software incorporates technology of Massive Incorporated ("Massive") that enables in-game advertising, and the display of other similar in-game objects, which are uploaded temporarily to your personal computer or game console and replaced during online game play. As part of this process, Massive may collect your Internet protocol address and other basic anonymous information, and will use this information for the general purposes of transmitting and measuring in-game advertising. Massive does not store or use any of this information for the purpose of discovering your personal identity. For additional details regarding Massive's in-game advertising practices, and to understand your options with respect to in-game advertising and data collection, please see Massive's privacy policy. The trademarks and copyrighted material contained in all in-game advertising are the property of the respective owners. Portions of this product are (C) 2007 Massive Incorporated. All rights reserved. For the time being the only adverts are posters on walls in certain areas, though with the adware fully integrated into the game you could soon be beating back Zombie Summoners with the Sword of Soft Drinks, 6-15 Coke splash damage per successful hit. Or perhaps the Gun of Crashing, Vista Edition, as Massive are owned by Microsoft. Get over it folks; in-game advertisement is the new trend. Demos, betas, servers, bandwidth, etc. aren't magically free. Besides, if it doesn't distract from enjoying the game, what is the harm? Ten years from now, when every retail game on the market has some form of in-game advertisement, we'll all be looking back on this and laughing. I can think of more constructive ways to b**** about a game: *cough* subscription model *cough* Source: http://news.filefront.com/hellgate-london-...d-with-ad-ware/ |

QUOTE(Araes @ Oct 19 2007, 03:02 PM) Rofl, you know I was pretty pissed of at ads in games when it was apparent ETQW was going to have them(by the same company no less 'Massive'). Then after playing in Singapore ETQW server I noticed that the there were no ads at all. Apparently, it only applies to the west namely North America since the ads are for products that aren't available here. I've seen a ETQW screenshot from a guy in US that had a Gillete ad in on of the billboards in game. I dont mind to have ads in the game, unless they force you to see the ads like pause the game for no reason and call you to watch some ads.So I wouldn't worry to much about it. NFSC had adware and i didnt do much of it. |
