Like many of you here, I'm also a big Lego fan (since my primary school days, back in the mid-80s) who hasn't built anything in years, but thanks to my 3-year old son showing keen interest in these iconic building blocks, that has perked up my own interest in them too! rclxms.gif

And while I haven't really started on anything big yet, I have been collecting the new Lego Shell merchandise - by filling up the car with gas every Sunday, so as to grab my hands on the stuff on the very first day, haha! Anyway, three have been built thus far, with "construction" of the fourth car in the series yet to start since I purchased TWO packs only yesterday (thanks to filling up $105.00 worth of RON 95 gasoline)! laugh.gif

Anyway, some upcoming Lego things that I will be building include these gems:
- A nice photo frame available only at Legoland Malaysia
- Darth Vader Buildable Lego Figure
- Millennium Falcon or TIE Fighter (to complement the Hot Wheels pair I bought yesterday)
- Maybe something from Lego City or Technics also?

You're most welcome! Enjoy biggrin.gif

I think now that the Lego Shell sets are gaining traction, we should go pump petrol on Sunday itself rather than wait. Pumping on Monday might be too late especially on larger Shell stations.
*
That's how I bought the collection of Shell Lego stuff - by getting them on Sunday (preferably in the mornings), as its the first day that the new week's item comes out. Even if my gasoline levels are more than 2/3, I will purposely go for $40.00 just to buy the Lego merchandise! rclxms.gif

By the time the week goes towards the tail-end, don't be surprised to see some of the Shell stations placing the dreaded "Kehabisan Stok" sticker up! laugh.gif

Wow, you have an amazing Star Wars collection there, Wobbles! rclxms.gif thumbup.gif

I'm planning on getting my favorite three spaceships and a big planet-sized station - Millennium Falcon (rare and costs a bomb, although I saw one in Legoland's BIG Shop), TIE Fighter, X-Wing Fighter, and Death Star.

But as of now, the only one I have is this fellow here laugh.gif :

Star Wars Buildable Figure is quite a hit, really something out of my expectation.
*
I have to thank my wife and her sharp eyes, because when we were at the Star Wars showcase in Mid Valley, she spotted our friend Lord Vader in his box and told me to check it out. After I picked the item, we then realized that it was the last one! rclxms.gif

Very lucky to have found such a unique type of Lego product, even if it cost a hefty $149.90! laugh.gif

Thank you bro. I've been very lucky. I got quite an extensive UCS Star Wars & Technics & City/Trains collection. Off the top of my head, these are the UCS Star Wars I have:

1. UCS Millennium Falcon 10179 - 2 sets (1 built in the pictures, 1 MISB)
2. UCS Death Star (play set) 10188 - built
3. UCS Tie Interceptor 7181 - 2 sets, both built
4. UCS X-wing (original set) 7191 - 2 sets, both built
5. UCS Imperial Star Destroyer 10030 - 3 sets, all built (damn it, I should have saved at least 1 in the box, but the temptation was too great, and it was a great build. The magnets they used to hold the shape together were simply brilliant!)
6. UCS Snowspeeder 10129 - built
7. UCS Y-wing 10134 - built
8. UCS Death Star II (the unfinished one, in ROTJ) 10143 - MISB
9. UCS Imperial AT-ST 10174 - 2 sets, 1 built, the other MISB
10. UCS Darth Vader TIE Advanced Fighter 10175 - as shown in the pictures, built
11. UCS Imperial Shuttle Tydirium 10212 - built
12. UCS Super Star Destroyer 10221 - MISB
13. UCS R2-D2 10225 - 2 sets (1 built in the pictures, 1 MISB)
14. UCS Slave I 75060 - 2 sets, both MISB
15. UCS Red X-Wing 10240 - 1 set, MISB

Gosh... now that I sit down to tabulate, no wonder my wife is so hopping mad at me!
*
Now that's what I call a very extensive collection of Lego Star Wars stuff, my friend! rclxms.gif

I'm thinking of getting the Millennium Falcon and TIE Fighters but while the latter is quite easily found in any Toys R Us or Hamley's store, the Falcon is definitely a rarity. Makes me regret not getting that iconic spacecraft when I saw it in Legoland (priced at $500-plus)! sad.gif

By the way, where did you get that Death Star II? Very nicely crafted model there, including all the unfinished bits! thumbup.gif

The Falcon comes in many guises - the two that I have have been long out of production. A MISB example on eBay can easily command USD$4000 to USD$5000 nowadays. The one which I just bought for my nephew (via Lego shop Australia - my nephew lives there) is the new release, which cost AUD249.99 (free shipping within Australia). The only thing I don't like about that is that the iconic round dish is represented by a rectangular piece instead. Which Falcon are you thinking of at $500 plus at Legoland? If it's that cheap, I wouldn't mind buying a few more for myself hahaha.

The Death Star II is also a long out of production UCS piece - I bought mine about what, 7 or 8 years ago, from Lego shop USA.

Most of my sets are from overseas, because it's way cheaper. Even Lego Australia (my main source now, because of free shipping to my family members) is cheaper!
*
Hmmm, I think that Millennium Falcon is going for $599.00 and it's one that comes with a square dish. I remember it being displayed in a "rare items - maximum one per person" shelf in the BIG Shop at Legoland Malaysia, but I didn't think of getting one, having spent quite a bit on admission fees and a couple of souvenirs (including the photo frame mentioned below) from the park! laugh.gif

I think one other place that still sells such end-of-life Lego Star Wars items is eBay, but most of them are used stuff though. Wonder whether it's a good idea to buy from these sellers or not? hmm.gif

However, there is something I got from Legoland which cannot be found at outside shops though - this cool picture frame that has "Legoland Malaysia" on it. Sad to say, even if it has been two weeks since we came back from JB-SG, I still haven't got the time to build the frame up yet! shakehead.gif

If it comes with the square dish, it's the new Millennium Falcon, it's from the new Force Awakens movie. It should be around RM 739.90 or so.

They're available at all LEGO shops and Toys R Us.
*
Ah, that explains why my Millennium Falcon (the Hot Wheels one) has a square dish now - it's the replacement for the round one that was destroyed during events of "Return of the Jedi"! tongue.gif

Also, I was in Tropicana City for a lunch appointment (yet another mall with Toys R Us) and went up to Brick Boys Toys at Level 3 (same floor as that toy shop, haha! laugh.gif) to have a look at Lego stuff. Turns out that they have THREE boxes of the Millennium Falcon and like what Bigfoot-X mentioned, it's priced at $739.00 or thereabouts - still a bit pricey as of now, and I worry that the model won't be built for some time if I buy it! biggrin.gif

Hi Terence,

Thanks for the kind comments. Most of these were bought from my travels overseas - Hong Kong, Singapore, UK, Australia & USA. Hardly any from Malaysia. The wrapping is my wife's idea - it would otherwise collect a lot of dust, according to her. I don't argue with Her Majesty. Hahah.
*
Hahaha, you're the opposite of me - my wife knows I like Lego AND Star Wars, and in fact, she was the one who asked me to buy the four spaceships (three were bought at the Star Wars showcase in MV on Sunday, with the fourth purchased two days ago at the Toys R Us in Jaya SC) and even told me to get the Darth Vader figure, when we saw it on display in MV! laugh.gif

Speaking of the Buildable Figures, I saw other characters like Boba Fett, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, a couple of Stormtroopers, etc. when at Brick Boys Toys but didn't see Luke's Dad there. Which means he's definitely a unique collector's item and not so easy to find! rclxms.gif

But you really do have one heck of an amazing collection of Lego stuff, bro. I guess you have many dedicated shelves and racks to display your stuff eh? rclxms.gif

We bought this cool souvenir during our trip to Legoland Malaysia, two weeks ago. Now that's really something different, one that we cannot get from the Lego shops other than the BIG Shop in Legoland! rclxms.gif

I spy ship rigging in the background.... Are you into collecting ships on top of buying Lego?
*
Oh yeah, that's a Fishing Boat that I bought from S&J Gift Shop, a few years back. And there's also a large Titanic sitting on top of a display cupboard, which I ordered from an American seller via eBay (cost me around MYR700-plus!) - on the 100th anniversary of the ship's tragic sinking! rclxms.gif

Of course Lego is a passion of me and my 2nd brother, since we were in school (he's two years younger than me), and thanks to my son, that interest has been ignited once more. And because of that, I'm now always scheduling my gasoline fill-ups on Sundays, so that I will be able to get those Shell Lego collectibles on the first day they are available! laugh.gif

Like I posted earlier, my wife knows of my keen interest in both Lego and Star Wars, which is why she chided me for not buying that huge Millennium Falcon in the BIG Shop at Legoland Malaysia. However, it's fortunate that I saw it going for sale in places like that Lego shop in Tropicana City as well as the bigger Toys R Us stores (the IPC outlet has it)! thumbup.gif

Hey mate, the photo frame was bought by my wife, and I can't exactly remember how much it costs. But it's indeed a nice accessory to be displayed in the home! thumbup.gif

Hmmm, I think the bigger Toys R Us carry such Buildable Figures, if I'm not wrong? I remember seeing some of these in the Mid Valley and IPC outlets, in fact. hmm.gif

Any idea if i can buy lego from LLM without entering the theme park??
meaning any shops outside? want to get the gold brick ornament & some other sets...

You can check out the shop located in the adjacent Legoland Hotel - it's located at the Ground Floor and next to the main lobby / reception area. thumbup.gif

Undoubtedly, it's not as spacious as the BIG Shop in the Legoland area but nonetheless, there is still a good choice of Lego stuff to choose from! rclxms.gif

Hmmm, as far as I know, the only exclusive LLM set is the Legoland Malaysia photo frame and while I can't remember the price (it was bought by my wife), the item looks like this:

Maybe some of you can try this particular Shell station for the yellow car - the one along the East-Coast Expressway (or also known as the Salak Expressway) in Cheras? I got TWO of mine when I went for gasoline at that station yesterday, as it's near my in-laws' place! thumbup.gif

Of course, don't forget that some Shell stations at the larger RSAs along the North-South Expressway also carry the Lego merchandise too! rclxms.gif

Hey guys, here's that bright yellow Ferrari that everyone's having a hard time getting. And I got these TWO at the Shell station along the East-West Highway in Cheras, like I mentioned earlier! laugh.gif

Yes, I have to agree with your point there, bro wobbles. Just like how I'm going all out to collect the iconic Star Wars spacecraft from Hot Wheels, even if I actually have all four on display (see my sig)! laugh.gif

But this is nothing compared with that Shell promotion a few years back, which was for those "solid" Ferrari models with the pull-back-to-run mode. That was insane and I actually went on a wild goose chase to get some of those cars! rclxms.gif

Hahaha, so that's where a Proton Exora's rather high fuel consumption has an advantage eh? icon_idea.gif

I can always consume that car's gasoline unit the near-empty level (i.e. one blinking bar) a couple of days before Sunday, and then fill up $20.00 or $30.00 just to get past the balance days until I purchase a full tank on the "big day" itself! laugh.gif
