Is it possible for an engineering graduate with 1~2 years of experience to land a job in Singapore banking field?

I've tried to search for electronics engineering jobs in JobStreet and Monster for about a month to two but so far no news yet. I might try to look for some banking jobs if there's the possibility.

Does banking in Singapore more favour finance background graduates? I'm having a second class mechatronics engineering B.E degree with some working experience in a MNC company for test engineering field and M&E industry for management experience.

Personally I'm quite fond with programming logic, statistics and data analysis although I would still prefer to look for programming related occupation but banking seems to be pretty good for career growth.

Edit: Most of my skills in computing are not usual computer programming (HTML, PHP, Java etc.), instead my knowledge is in MATLAB, LabView, C++, VB etc. Might have some variance as compared to software engineering as my programming is usually used to control machine to perform certain action rather than GUI.
