Want to ask if anyone knows of any good arcades (with the latest stuff) in KL area. Are there any that opens past 10pm?

Time Square's seems to be the latest IMO. It does open past 10, but only the arcade...the counter is closed at 10.

Sungei Wang Holiday Planet, Mid Valley Holiday Planet and 1 Utama CrossFire...

I always play Marvel VS Capcom 2 and KOF XI..

Most updated, either in Penang or Sogo in KL. The others, not too updated but they keep up (especially with SF4 at Times Square).

Got one in Jusco Taman Equine also, in addition to the theme park inside Jusco. Maluri Jusco... well, put it this way laa, if you don't mind kids, most Juscos in KL should have a Smart Wonder World which should have some decent games.

Arcade I've been or know of so far in KL:

- Times Square (got two, dunno name of both, both on same floor)

- Cheras Leisure Mall (Dunno name, iirc mostly retro games)

Never been into the Low Yat Plaza one, but I'm aware of it's existence

There used to be a very big one in The Mall. Closed down in 2007
There was also one at Ampang Park. Closed down last year.

Summit USJ now has Street Fighter IV as well. I think it's the same type as in Berjaya Times Square. Possibly hacked from console/PC version, because the console exclusive characters are usable. Timer set to 60, 3 rounds. Sound loud like mad. Still, I like playing SFIV any chance I get.

ya 1 prob in summit usj is they are not so good at setting sound.

I just remembered: the one near the Cinema in Summit is also run by Cobay. Now I remember seeing a Cobay sticker on some of their games, and the staff wear Nintendo logo uniform.

For Pearl International hotel, I now remember one is Holiday Planet. I suspect the other one is Cobay, but not sure. Some of the games from the other arcade is now at The Mines' Cobay.

Also, forgot to note that the Tesco Bukit Tinggi one is very small, and mostly kiddie game.

Indeed, I think most arcades in Klang Valley area, if not Capcom Station, Jungle Jungle or Holiday Planet, is Cobay.

Forgot to list down Giant Putra Heights. They have a Jungle Jungle.

Oh, yeah, one more at Alamanda Putrajaya. Go downstairs at food court escalator. Forgot name.

List keeps growing forgot about Jungle Jungle at Setia Alam Tesco.

The MVC 2 at summit has crazy settings.. The damage is double... Cable super twice can kill a character... Should change the settings to reduce the damage... 10 seconds can beat 3 computer characters with Magneto...

wa... magspert here la...

well i guess they dun wan u 2 sit at the machine for 2 long just with 1 token loh.... hahaha

anyway the good side of this high damage setting is u dun need to take forever to kill sentinel

Hehe, I always play MSP (Magneto, Storm and Psylocke)... If opponenet rape me using Cable, then I will use Cable, Sentinel, Captain Commando or Blackheart... Hehe... I love the game so much eventhough 9 years liao... Hehe

ya i like this game too.... its just tht a lot of 'cheating' characters like sentinel and cable tht has made the game very unstable. but its a perfect game to play if u are playing with ur own friends where u all try out all the characters (56 characters!!!)instead of playing with some stranger who probably be only using the same old 3 'cheating' characters.

Strangely enough, those cheating characters aren't really equipped with exploits, as opposed to say, Ken and Gambit for instance.

Sentinel/Strider/Doom mainly for me.

Still have yet to play with u.. Hopefully 1 day bump into each other at Mid Valley? Me MSP player..

As far as i know, TimesSquare is the only place with Pop n Music/Ez2Dj. While PercussionFreak the only working one is at 1Utama, Ez2Dancer(Kor) was Pyramid...

You can play Beatmania IIDX 13th Gold at some arcade in Melaka, been there and throwed RM100 on it, that's the best day i ever had, now i'm stucked in my room with my iidx controller + computer =\

And don't ever hope for jubeat to appear in Malaysia any sooner as there's less demand of it here, same goes to other music game.

I'd say around Selangor, Sunway Pyramid. The others are pretty run down, like Time Square, didnt seem too appealing to me.

kEazYc @ Arcade In Melaka huh~ haven't been there to play tho x_x only been there to makan. But true also lar, M'sia Gaming community abit low compared to EU/Korea/Japan, not to mention we're always 2 years behind before their games get here, or not at all. :\

Holiday Planet used to have very good updates of arcade games till 2007 or so. Then they stop updating, and those machine had bad maintenance,or no $$ buy spare-parts, after that all Kaboom...malfunction~

And holiday planet has alot of branches. Summit, MidValley, SungeiWang, LeisureMall, LowYat. I don't know about Tesco tho~

The only thing worth playing at TimesSquare now probably Pop'N'Music~

for the arcade nowadays,
mostly they only update those gun shooting n racing game.

hong kong arcade shop is really good.... come with slot machine area too..

Sogo's arcade is still open for business....

I think the slew of T6BR players won't stop. besides, Sogo's arcade is also one of the most renowned in Singapore. So, I don't think it'll stop that soon.

If anyone's interested with KOF XII in Malaysia, the emulator version (sadly) is available in Sunway Pyramid. Along with other emulator games.

I believe its a 360 rip.

So this game called JuBeat. I saw (and play) one at Shaw ?? Klang (forgot shopping mall name ). But most of the song is chinese. Somehow Lady Gaga and is available

Penang have the real arcade version, but not many play it. Last time i play it is couple of month ago in Komtar. Not sure about now.

last time our arcade scene was blooming bro, aroun 95 to 97. Every single day we have really intensed matches of Xmen vs Street Fighter, Tekken 3, Marvel Super Heroes, KOF etc, at Holiday Planet, especially in Plaza Kotaraya and Sungei Wang Plaza. I still remember I had to wake up from my bed, just because somebody challenged me on Xmen vs Street Fighter, so we walked all the way, from the hostel to Plaza Kotaraya, trash talking along the way.

Why it died out? Police raid. Constant police raid. And to add to that, some of the greedy people also place porn arcade machines, Fantasia to name a few and gambling machines. So instead of geting good clean fight among fellow arcade trekkers, we also have all sorts of public scum in arcades, which was a goldmine for police. People stopped going to arcade of fear of the raids, then the scene slowly dies..

just as u said sniper, even arcades here allow people to smoke or dont even care about them.

btw, i have been playing a game called bishi bashi since 1997, and guess wad, i just came back to sunway pyramid and they have "Za (The) Bishi Bashi" which is the latest and was release on 2009. There are 22 stages in total.



wanted to ask, else than Time Square that have Time Crisis: Raging Storms, which other arcade have them?

i seen something similar to this, i even seen hoku no ken's arcade where there's 6 punch glove for u to punch at. never try though

also, i really hate some people at arcade here, they tend to punch for kick the machine for no reason

for example, hit the mole like arcade, the person just walk through and whack the machine real hard for 2 times and walk away and laugh, lose at racing game and kick the pedal or spam the arcade stick real wild.

i mean wtf... even there's no technician or people there do not care about them.

during that era... parent was quite strict... dun let me go out for arcade... until im standard 6..

then at secondary school a "black" arcade shop behind the street only manage to went there couple of time... it was full of schoolmate...

Hey, I remember those days! Yup, Kotaraya and Sg Wang are 2 places I frequent more than any other place in KL or Selangor. I loved playing Virtua Fighter 2 at the top floor arcade at Kotaraya, and SF Zero 3 at Sg Wang. Also, the competition was constant and healthy. Anyone still remember Sega Satellite in Sg Wang? I didn't go there often, but I loved the atmosphere. Of course, there'll always be smacktards who like destroying arcade machines. This is why we can't have nice things! Oh yeah, the raids too.

I know 1U has Drummania and Guitarfreaks, though their machine is not in the best condition. Has Taiko.

Summit has a VERY VERY good Guitarfreaks V6 BLAZING! machine. I hope nobody vandalizes it. ;_; It also has Taiko.

Sunway also has DDR (the arcade's right dance pad is a little faulty), and they removed the one in Asian Avenue. Has no Taiko. lol.

From what I heard from the arcade boss of the above mentioned arcades, it's something to do with the licensing issues for the songs and thus they cannot even get the machines for Jubeat (and it's sequel) - Konami won't sell to them. He's aware that Jubeat is a popular game but since they couldn't get Jubeat, the Magic Cube thing will just have to do as a substitute.

There are new Arcade opened nearby Fitness Center at Midvalley.

As far as I know, that arcade have the best vanilla Street Fighter 4 official machine so far (not SSF4:AE).

Yeap, but the setup damn nice, never see setup like that for SF4 around KL
1 cabinet per player...I decide the Rm2 kinda worth it while stock "last" from me

Other game, Tekken 6, some throw balls game, shooting game, midnight racing, hammering, touching2, etc2.

Oh ya, that arcade actually just a sub-business of that place.

Bro, I think I saw a Jubeats machine at Holiday Planet IOI Mall Puchong this afternoon. Looks like they have two machines but one is out of commission.
