agree with besiegetank, it's good to post units that you have in your roaster so others can suggest you which to go for.
but mainly there's a few unit you gonna build for

ready
2 units of physical and magical chainer total 4
1 unit of physical and magical finisher total 2
1 unit of buffer
1 unit of breaker
1 unit of summoner
1 unit of healer
1 unit of tanker
1 unit of MP battery

there's some unit which having utility to support so they can help out fill in some team composition
ex. warrior of light can be tank, provoker and breaker , raegen can be buffer, breaker, chainer, mp battery

Chainer having some sort of chaining skill and chaining family


Finisher is for end of chaining to having the max chain cap damage which the skill itself have very high damage modifier but this require a lot of practice and timing but finisher only usage is for 1-hit KO
before the boss deadly threshold, but train priority is low due you can chain the boss to dead by chainer and finisher couldn't do much without chainer


Buffer is to buff your team to have higher stat so your enemy will deal lesser damage or you deal more damage to them


Breaker is to debuff enemy so they will having lower stat to deal a lot less damage or lower defend to let you deal a lot more damage but some trial are immune so you'll need buffer to raise your stat to withstand the attack


summoner is just for faster gather summoning orb and mission espers summon for specific trial only or as a finisher which can replace physical or magical finisher (ex.garnet + bahamut)


healer which you already know just for sustain and keep your team up, there's two units which is very good to be healer due they can reraise (auto revive) our team, normally raise will cause our unit miss a acting turn reraise will let our down unit raise before our turn and we can act when its our turn

Tanker is one of the key units that make sure your other cannon glass unit survive trial or boss attack but divided into 3 types, provoker / aoe physical tank / aoe magical tank


MP Battery is very important for your team to able keep continue dish out damage , buff , debuff and other abilities and the list is very very long


Phew... very long. As for lapis you just keep doing story mission to gain lapis then summon as much as unit as possible if can do 10+1 units as it free 1 unit.

YES and NO, almost every gacha game require you to spend so they can maintain and sustain, you can play without spend but you will need to pay more time and effort for it, people spending on summoning will get duplicate unit for 3* & 4* so they will fuse them up or TMR farm them multiple together then fuse it so that they require lesser unit to get the tmr, if you want to TMR farming to 100% is able but require tons of times and energy beside that the king mog events usually will finish your energy. click HERE & HERE for updated script to direct you to reddit TMR farming guide.

hmm... besiegetank said you need a good healer but i not really think that way though due a lot of trial need 5 person on a trial and i always removed healer from party due you got a good tank then you can survive and use support to heal or regen your party up unless i need reraise but trial like Machina of Destruction will require no magic so you need someone like zargabaath or vanille to reraise and sustain *enchantment require*.
another will be depend on your chaining
kurasame is strong but he's belong to quick hit family chaining and it's super hard to chain due to the gap to press them is really really close and small , same goes to tidus... i also almost give up on my 7* tidus due to very hard to chain unless you using macro.
easier chainer in your list are Divine Ruination, got Raegen , Fryevia and Hyoh but synergy wise raegen are good due to he can imperil with fire which chain with hyoh and ice which is fryevia although hyoh having same 60% fire imperil and fryevia is having 75% when you enchant her "Frost Flower Blitz" to +2

Congratulations on STMR Kurasame, really good on hybrid character like Fryevia if you switch to use DR family , yes... the chain will break easily on QuickHit family even with macro but if you doesn't mind on that then you can continue focus on Kurasame due his 7* form can do triple cast like 7* tidus just hybrid slightly hard to gearing and himself is doublehand so more hard for newbie ,
and he's hybrid as so gearing him as ATT or MAG also can but if i wasn't mistake MAG will deal more damage due Monster or Boss used to have lesser SPR.

Should you 7* Zargabaath answer still depend on you but i suggest no,can use CG Nichol for now and will be easier but on some circumstances Zargabaath will outshine them but even you 7* him now you need to do ability enchantment to full maximize his power.
Mage only if you summoned it on the way no need UOC them.
Healer you got two option if you want to get it then only Ayaka or Lotus Mage Fina, both got reraise, ayaka looks better due she got enchantment already, both skill set looks similar except ayaka got status ailment protect skill which is slightly superior, grand barrier on 7* which makes tanker more tankier. Lotus Mage Fina will be aoe reraise queen once she 7* CD skill is aoe reraise, passive got LB crystal regen and fillrate, LB is aoe reraise.
As for A.Rain 7* is magic tank, he's more on trial he can be healer and mp battery once he's 7* on level 110 to regen mp on off turn.
for this game is RNG base i greatly suggest you keep your UOC until you normally summon one of them then UOC to 7* so keep gather more resource ex.Max level cactuar and gold, they're expensive to 7* .

Yes, TMR farm on +att tmr first so can clear more story then focus on tanker
for myself also like this Chainer>Tanker>Healer you got chainer to have damage to clear the boss and a good tanker usually will take alot lesser damage so healer sometimes is doing nothing on certain trial as buffer like CG nichol come with regen on his buff (soulful stance) so the regen hp could cover it already unless you need reraise which is a failed safe as for soulstance regen scale on spr so build more spr his regen will heal more.

Jecht work better with tidus due they both have rotation to imbue water element and imperil, kurasame couldn't unless you got 7* Maritime Strategist Nichol that can imbue water element on your kurasame to have elemental chain.
both healer are good since they got reraise which is really important in trial. both got pro and con though. wilhelm with no need crazy gear to tank due no matter how tank you are trial boss will crush you, you still need 100% evade to tank i learn my lesson on 3* odin trial, wilhelm vs sieghard both are similar able to tank but wilhelm have better survivability due his LB and he counter with normal to generate more lb crystal and valor for lb fillrate, sieghard is kinda special for his skill with charms as some trial boss able to be charm by it xD so you will some off turn.

this game is really about patient, no need to be sad due to under gear as more events come you will have more equipment and tmr can use the reddit link i post previously for auto farm

Like lifenoregret said M.ramza for provoker and basch for better aoe cover. basch need equip golem to get provoke skill and it's only 70% unless you boost with equipment to get 100% provoke another thing it got no passive damage migration on the provoke skill

lilith with high spr counter would be problematic sometimes as you almost hit hp threshold on the boss and her counter hit pass it then you gonna take tons of damage.

congratulations on getting her , but if want something similar as loren that would be kryla but she's limited unit though so you need as least one copy of her to be loren 7* similar

that's good to hear that you made some progression inside the game trial but there are still more which they require certain unit to clear them, play slowly. wow ?! two LM fina in one banner that's very lucky she's the reraise queen in the game xD barbie need to train yes due some trial only take magic damage and most of the boss spr is alot lower than def so magic chainer will dealer quite alot amount of damage to them.
she's just a healer so i just gear her stat very basic no need that high and with around 800 spr able to get my tank hp up without any issue
oh yea one more to add remember to clear the main character vortex mission LM fina can use her equipment and get their passive aswell, same goes for a.rain and cg laswell

akstar is strong than hyoh in my opinion due to chaining skill family and their modifier, aurora freyvia (fan fiesta 2018 limited unit) is hybrid damage dealer so it's different on damage calculation depend on which stat you're gearing and hybrid damage dealer are alot hard to gear too. i been saving my uoc ticket just for akstar then he can chain with my 7* A2

yes, starting time i also used this item on many trial, they have alot good passive. remember to do weapon enchantment dungeon to get more stat for them to be more stronger, 100% status resist can be done easily but 100% on particular element is easy as well especially fire but if all then it's very very hard, as for status resist there are some status which we couldn't resist ex.stop, charms and berserk unless they've special passive on it especially some trial which do preemptive strike and cast stop. trance terra are good but now she facing some issue on her A.Chaos Wave chain and limit unit to chain with, barbie is alot easier and tornado chaining is quite easy unless the boss is resist to wind else she can chain with tons of units. yes fountain of lapis is really good deal as long you keep playing for everyday login at least.
my fina doesn't require much as long my provoker is there or my aoe tank is there another would be great raven cape have a passive to 100% decrease chance of being target so unless the boss not doing aoe my fina most likely will not getting hit but sometimes it still will hit her but only once or twice xD

Yes it need to 100% status immune if you're going to use wilhelm as AOE cover as some status will cause him not cover the physical damage such as sleep, petrify, stop and paralyze
if you don't have good armor then actually the king's armor do have 50% status immune so plus with wilhelm passive 50% then it will be 100%
another tmr i use before kings armor release is Seed of Hope that's i got it from Reimi@ star ocean 4 raid summon, if you doesn't skip on Deus Ex: Mankind Divided events "Augmentation Glasses" also does give 60% status resist in accessory, i give you this information due no need to waste ribbon on wilhelm as that ribbon can make another unit immune to status.
if you only make into provoker then his gear requirement can be lower but your team gonna take aoe damage

if elemental resist i like to stack "True Hydaelyn Guard" 15% all element resist can be craft by Hydaelyn Guard getting from a unit called "Minfilia" from raid summons
normal way is to farm TMR from Garnet which give 20% all element resist, if you happened to be extremely lucky to get marie then her robe will be very good all element 30% except dark only and it's a robe and it's good to give to aoe mage cover such as bacsh, mystea or shyt unless you're using a.rain and lilith then you need equip robe tmr to use it which will waste one tmr slot
