garnet is a big yes for F2P user with the recent 6 star & ability awakening

Bahamut is incredibly easy to one-shot with the following setups:
Ring of the Lucii, a strong mage, and a Draco Spike. Break his SPR, buff MAG, and dualcast an Alterna to land inside your chain of choice (5* Shantotto works as a budget option if you lack any other chainers).
Zyrus (850+ MAG) and his limit burst are just as suitable if Ring of the Lucii is not an available option.
Any Summoner with EVO MAG +10% materia and Bahamut can act as a finisher to a high chain.

Chow really perform way better than l expected, he can solo tank the whole rumble of malboro that l can't even survive with double tank method
the best thing about chow is he can self heal plus auto revive!!!

Nyx can do both chaining and finishing and stat breaking, but very bad weapon selection, FV can offer damage are rng based 10x mod, with 4 element imperil, and 20% mitigation
l will pick FV over nyx if you have chainer, easier to build FV

Unit like Freyvia, Orlandue, Dark Veritas, Sephiroth are golden chaining unit, easy to use and powerful, on the other hand best physical chainer are Tidus/Onion Knights

for magic chainer look for Trans Terra, Barbarrica, Lulu, Lila

Noctis can be a very good starter unit
