change to better router, like asus or tplink router, tm router bad..
QUOTE(NGFN @ Dec 20 2015, 11:25 PM) I am back to this topic again which is very sad because i have some problem again As some of you know I just change my unifi package from 10mbsp to 30mbps. However the speed doesn't change much and so I called TM and their technician come yesterday. they fix the thing and one of the computer got 20mbps+ speed while another computer only have less than 8mbps speed. The computer that have 20mbps + is using the wireless high gain USB adapter which i bought for my sister since her room have low wifi signal. While my computer only get 6-7mbps with only built in wifi since my room have better signal. I ask the technician why my computer speed only 6mbps and they say is because i am using built in wifi while my sister is using high performance usb adapter so got better speed which i believe them and let them go back. So now my sister computer consistently getting 15-18mbps speed (using wireless high gain USB adapter) which i think is still low because I was expecting at least 20mbps while my computer only get 1 to 6mbps speed and its very inconsistent and when i try to watch youtube.... sometimes fast sometimes slow (before the upgrade it is very consistent) So my problem now is 1. Does wireless high gain USB adapter really makes the speed faster compare to built in wifi. 2. Before the upgrade my internet speed is quite consistent with 5-8mbps and rarely drop less than 1mbps speed (using built in wifi only) but after upgrade my speed still 5-8mbps and sometimes less than 1mbps speed and it is very inconsistent... is it really my built in wifi problem or the TM problem?? Why my speed never go above 10mbps? Is it true that my built in wifi will limit my speed? |

Yes correct, all btu will have new adapter.
For router the cheapest is asus rt-n12hp. Less than rm200. QUOTE(NGFN @ Dec 21 2015, 05:13 PM) hmm... lazy to spent more money to get better router... anyway i used my sister wireless high gain USB adapter... i can get 15-20 mbps speed... should be ok if i buy another one... anyway how much does the router cost? BTW just now some TM folks come and change the power adapter for me.... is it true that all tm user will need to change their power adapter? |

They said after change new adapter, need to on the Internet and they need to do some computerized testing.
QUOTE(aneip @ Dec 22 2015, 11:13 AM) Why they just simply courier the new adapter to customer choice of address. I think more than 70% people will not be home. and 99% people know how to replace the adapter. Maybe 50% will confuse which one.. This post has been edited by jusbella: Dec 22 2015, 11:51 AM |

U can go TM Point to register UniFi.
Installation is thru wall and TM pole outside ur house. They will give u Modem (BTU), Router and Dect phone, and TV Box. So PC/Laptop is not required. After finished installation, u can use wifi smartphone to surf net, stream youtube etc. QUOTE(shizuko87 @ Dec 23 2015, 03:32 PM) |
