I've did some research and found out Gigabyte Superb 720W comes with 3 12v rails and is APFC with 80% efficiency for the price of RM 260... which is a bargain than purchasing CoolerMaster Extreme Power 650W which is RM 290 and no PFC...
So is it gigabyte superb 720w worth to buy if i intend to use GTX260 SP216. I'm currently using rather old Acbel 400W with PFC. very lasting i would say... |

QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Feb 15 2009, 12:26 PM) AFAIK, GB Superb series is not 80% certified This is the link >>> http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/PowerS...ductName=Superb 720If it's a 80% certified PSU at such a low price yet higher wattage, other companies can close shop |

QUOTE(uzer85 @ Feb 17 2009, 09:04 AM) WOW. Gigabyte Superb 720W is really 80+ certified. (according to gigabyte website) based on the link given, is show it have 3 12V rails, APFC and certified 80+. Besides there is only one version of Superb 720. Can't go wrong with it right?if that the case, why we always suggesting ST56F n other that cost more than 3XX when we can use Gigabyte superb? hehe. but i still doubt it's 80+ certified considering its price for its wattage. Or somebody head on to c-zone booth to find out. |

For normal gaming usage which is run by E8400 Intel and HD4830.
PSU 550W, which is better choice? Coolermaster Extreme Power 550W at RM 195 http://www.coolermaster.com/products/produ...tbcate=22&id=54 or Gigabyte Superb 550W at RM 210 http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/PowerS...me=Superb%20550 |

Is Gigabyte Superb 720W with 610W true power enough to power Intel Q9400 + EP45-UD3L, 1x Seagate 500GB + 1x WD 640GB + GTX260+ DVD writer + 6x 12cm fan.
enough? |

But lex, based on coolermaster extreme power 550W and Gigabyte Superb 550W, price i got from C-Zone, CM is RM 230 while Giga is just RM 199 and chances can get as low as RM 170. Perhaps CM, we are paying more for the brand.
Even Gigabyte true power is at 450W, is highly recommended because it uses Japan main capacitor, all power cable is sleeved to maximise air flow in your casing. I recommend for budget user PSU below RM 200 to look into this model rather than choosing Coolermaster Extreme Power 550W |

Since most psu have 3 12v rails, is it okay to use only one rail to power around 2 to 3 hdd? Unlike last time splitting the power rails.

Thanks for your advice. Was it CM extreme power plus underpowered?
About that buckroger, short warranty and it's used set seems not really safe to use. Vantec comes with 2 years warranty. |
