i tried outervision calc again, got little better result, recommend need 760w ish
so now, have question
if i get a 900w psu (cooler master UCP RS900-AAAAA3) n it says continuous power
that means is going to burn 900w continuous? i read op post but not see answer
i look up google a bit, n it mention continuous = backup power like battery 1 in case of power outage
but m still confuse if means always 900w or not oso

i consider 900w psu becoz can get 1 cheaper than cost of 800w psu
jus worry so much higher temp or power bill

gigabyte ex58-ud5 mobo
(psu)
evga gtx280 ssc 1gb gddr3 card
cm690 case (came with 2x 120mm, 3x 120mm LED), 2x 140mm scythe fan
corsair xms3 (3x 2gb) ddr3/1600mhz
unsure on hdd, think 1x 1tb, 2x 500gb WD drive
vista 64 home premium oem

900w is more tan i need yah, but i ask.. it not going on full power all time izzit?
my comp burn say 300w idle, psu going give onli 300w? or give the full 900w no matter rclxub.gif

no pt me get ss op1k, cost more.
only 900w consider cos dealer give me better offer~ i buy gfx card from him, he give me tat psu 1/2 price, n review say the CM UCP 900w 1 good neway.

If the system draws 300W on idle then PSU is going to draw about 300W+ from the power lines.. The "+" is extra power wasted within the PSU.. That's why its recommended to get a PSU with "80Plus" certification, which means its efficiency is 80% or higher (about 20% or less wasted in the PSU). 900W is the maximum power the system can draw from the PSU...  wink.gif

hi guys, i post here awhile back in regards to fix my psu.
i have sold it (1k w), now in market to replace.
i looking corsair psu, hx850 today
but also see cheaper model tx850 tat got US$60 more cheaper
difference only tat i see 2x 6+2pin cable and modular capability, HX with 2 more year manufacture warranty.
both quite high rating.
so i am abit confuse, to why TX model so much cheaper.
previous psu i use, ss op1000-e, not modular. modular is not with high a selling point to me, but bonus only.

so i ask, is there any other difference?
i not scare to buy a good quality psu
but if cheaper also high quality, then also can i think.

For PSU, mostly these brands are recommended - Seasonic, Silverstone, Xigmatek.
Corsair seems to be a pricey product which performs same like others.

Look around and choose the Watts that u need.

i already have look around, i am down to compare between those 2 product.
silverstone psu give me issue this last time, already rma tat psu before.
these 2 corsair product both alot high feedback on tat site, but i am curious wat difference it is between 2 product, tat cost is so much different.

prefer stick to product tat well known
instead company like seasonic, xigmatek.
i hear ppl say seasonic, 1st to think of budget model psu, for use in 'office' type pc..
not good exp with tat company previously.
so now i ask of, btw 2 corsair psu, can advise?

Do you know that Seasonic supply some of its PSUs as OEM to Corsair for them to rebadge as their own models?
And also, the ratio of watt/buck of Corsair PSU is low. Between the two, there's no distinguished features other than modular and non modular.

did not know tat, surprised.
thank u the reply.
