QUOTE(tkh_1001 @ Nov 16 2007, 12:03 AM) hello people... a noob here... can i noe if enermax fma 535w has any difference compared to silverstone strider 560w? i have seen alot of ppl recommending silverstone 560w even though the two is almost identical... 560W is better than 535W for sure. Silver Stone always make high quality PSU, get alot good review from LYN fofum.... |

QUOTE(kevin613 @ Nov 16 2007, 11:48 PM) bigger number is not always better.. ya, bigger number doesnt mean better, but if both rate at 80% efficiency+ then bigger is better.compare the rails of the 2 models, then u will know all rails in the FMA II 535W are stronger (if not equal) than the ST56F, the quoted powers are different, enermax quotes the total power, while silverstone quotes the MAX power.. u do the maths.. Silverstone is a relatively new brand compared to enermax that has been in the PSU business for yearsss.. compare them here.. http://www.phoronix.net/image.php?id=377&i..._st56f_side_lrg http://www.phoronix.net/image.php?id=263&i...sper2_label_lrg But i prefer Silver Stone, although new brand, but still a very good quality brand |

QUOTE(kevin613 @ Nov 17 2007, 10:21 AM) u still dont get it... you mean the +3.3V rails and +5.0V rails isit ? sorry for missing to see that. I just see the +12V rails only the way both brands rate their power supply is different... the enermax have stronger rails compared to the ST56F... the power quoted by silverstone are absolute maximum, while enermax has been more conservative, otherwise how do u explain a weaker rails have higher output power? if u were to calculate the absolute maximum, then the enermax would have higher output. so if it's like u say, bigger is better, then in other words u're slapping your own face.. see the photos, and read the rails, dun be a blindfolded fanboy.. btw i doubt silverstone manufacture their own PSU, my guess is they OEM from other manufacturers, which makes them no difference with brands like thermaltake or coolermasters. |

QUOTE(kevin613 @ Nov 18 2007, 01:29 AM) i'm trying to say if u combine all the rails of the enermax, it'll be higher than the ST56F.. aiks..i saw wrong only...whats the advantage for stronger rail ? improve system stability ?the ST56F has weaker rails, and yet was quoted as a higher power PSU @ 560W. while the enermax has stronger rails, are only quoted @ 535W. so the way the manufacturer rate their product is actually different, and 0168257061's way of just comparing the number is not sufficient to determine which is a better PSU, cause he judge it by seeing which number is bigger.. hmm...isit lower wattage = weaker rail ? isit posible for 450W PSU got same rail with the Enermax FMAII Iron Power 535 ? after all , i still think that Silver Stone is better
My +5v rail is weaker which is 28A but total +12v rail is stronger, 41A, every psu got its pros and cons. |

QUOTE(sayming @ Nov 24 2007, 11:08 PM) I'm getting a wooo...not enough eh bro...at least 450W real power C2D e6750 Asus 8800GT 160GB HDD But the shopkeeper recommended me the Cooler Master Elite 330 Casing that comes with a Real Power 380W PSU. Will that PSU be sufficient enough for my rig? Added on November 26, 2007, 10:25 pm QUOTE(qiyi @ Nov 26 2007, 02:37 AM) 1. Lets say ur computer uses 400W only. If u buy a 700W psu with >80% efficiency, will it automatically lower the wattage usage to 400W or it will still pump 700W? 1) the psu work with your needs....when you got 700W, not meant that the psu provide 700w always...you want 400W then it provide 400W to you....2. Average efficiency of chapalang psu? Say ICUTE 450W? 3. If monitor draws power from the psu, should it be included in the calculation of total watt usage of the psu? Want to save on electricity bill 2)i think ICute has 60%-70%....Cooler Master Extreme Power series have 70%+ 3) yes it is...but you can always use converter to draw power direct from the plug... Added on November 26, 2007, 10:26 pm QUOTE(akachester @ Nov 26 2007, 10:39 PM) Between PCP&C Silencer 610W and SS OP650, which one is better as both of them are having roughly the same price point. for me, i always go with higher watter but both are same specs and price. QUOTE(tech_frix @ Nov 23 2007, 09:56 AM) woi...tak boleh lah bro...sangat bahaya ni ! Not mean cant power up, its danger...6000+ almost become a power hunger... AMD AthlonX2 6000+ has 125Watts TDP(Thermal Design Power) , means when it load...it will use 150W or higher... but for your X1950GT, don't know more about it...maybe eat not more than 150W. but for safety purpose, we really suggest you buy this... ![]() you get what you paid bro, trust me... QUOTE(stanley85 @ Nov 27 2007, 08:21 PM) lol i also not sure abt that.. haha... I don't think so...its totally shop problem....or...unlucky |
