Any Mechanical otai here, i need some suggestion. As we know mechanical fire the atty around 4.05v-4.15v at full battery. Let say i make coils total of 0.5ohm, meaning ill get around 33watts. Good? The question here:

1) What is the ideal coil resistance for mechanical for good taste?
2) What is the ideal coil resistance for mechanical for bigger cloud?
3) Usually you do single coil? Dual coils? Quad coils? for mechanical.
4) How often you replace your coils in a month?

I was like you before I started vaping 2 months ago.

I vape because I just curious about it and if it really can help to stop smoking why not.

Seeked some frens for advise and research. They say no point getting those starter kits as they will burnt up coil easily if don't know how to use.

After that really into it. Good start good experience

No problem. I started with these le. But taste wise can be subjective thingy haha

in a perfect scenario a hybrid top cap gives you about 4v, a normal mech around 3.9v or 3.7v depending on material and such

always make sure you're pulling about 5amps less than your battery's max amp. some headroom is very important to vape safe.

amperage calculation is v/r = I

using my set up as an example that makes it

3.9v / 0.2ohm = I'm pulling 19.5 amps.

to find out wattage it's p = v*v/r

so for me that's 3.9*3.9/0.2 = 76.05w



1) personally for me I don't go below 0.2ohms. anything lower mutes the taste for me

2) 70vg juices paired with 20g n80 turbo coils are staple for cloud comps in states, not sure about here

3) basic dual coil tight wrap 24g n80s. stapled claptons when I'm not lazy since while it holds more juice, the ohm would be too low and I don't get the same flavour profile :c

4) once every 3 days, could push it but I don't like doing so

for a mech mod using 2 parallel 18650 will still be firing at 3.7v is it?(since the batteries say 3.7v)
and the voltage will drop as the battery is slowly draining towards empty am i correct??

yup, when you roll a parallel coil it's basically like having two coils worth of resistance since a parallel coil is two wires wrapped together in a single coil (just making sure we're in the same page with terminologies)

18650 batteries rated at 3.7v indicates that that's it's nominal usage voltage. the max voltage they hold on a full charge is 4.2v

used in a mech mod, you'll feel the voltage drop around 3.7 and you'll switch to freshly charged batteries lol

with regulated mods however you're able to well, utilise it till its empty (not adviced) which is usually 2.5v

1) coil resistance according to your needs (hot,warm or cold vape)

2) cloud comp res is around 0.1ish, Dual 20g n80 3.0mm 5wrap

3) Coil according to atty or type of coil, clapton, fused, stapled

4) replace coils when gunky or bored 2-3 times a week
