A very short 40 seconds video to demonstrate the difference of these two lenses. I believe some have asked before but I couldn't find reviews showcasing same scenes so I did one myself smile.gif

Photos will be coming soon.

Guys, the format that you guys use, RAW only or JPEG only or both?

And, is there any way to change Capture One not to alter my shots? I did them in B/W and Sepia under P and Capture One decided to change them back when I imported the photos over. Dang.

What program do you use to process your files? Some shots that I took, I am actually satisfied with them but then the effects are missing after I import them to the programs I used. rclxub.gif

Thats because you cannot modify RAW file. Thats why it is "raw", unprocessed data. If you apply effects it must comes out as jpeg for the effect to work.

Alright. I am using Lightroom instead. Tons of stuff to play and easier (for me) too.

Nooooo.... you're gonna make me miss that awesomely colourful city real bad. Need to go see it in Spring sometime.

Don't forget to check out Arashiyama. Take a tripod and go all creative at night - it's an awesome sight.

On the other hand, I feel like reciprocating with some Year End Hol pictars of my own. Just gimmie a few hours to sleep first lol.

But I was a week early for autumn red, only get to have orange momiji.
Arashiyama is a nice place for sakura too, albeit very cold than the rests of Kyoto:

Very noice... Back during my trip I was fortunate enough to be there on the last week of koyo before winter starts to set in. Unfortunately I wasn't fortunate enough to have a decent WA back then.

Plus Arashiyama + complete darkness + no tripod = super crap pictars.

Hey ho, here's two of the more decent pics from my photowalk this morning:

user posted imageOf Men and Monsters by Eirakkun, on Flickr

user posted imageGround Zero by Eirakkun, on Flickr

The 50 is very very satisfying when you get a good pic out of it... but in normal situations it ends up being (as most would expect) too long on APS-C. Plus AF is labourious without PDAF (AF-C).

Ended up using my 20 on the 5T more... despite the inferior optics (and sensor).

Tomorrow time for some Korean UWA goodness. Not sure weather I should pair it with the 50 or the more all-rounder 20 on the 5T though.

Or maybe I should just eff it and go with the 30M. Close ups should be a nice viewpoint change and the 30 is decent enough for normal ranges too (at least better than the 20 in most cases - though the 50 spanks it for everything except AF speeds).

Choices choices.

Just for the sake of discussion. Did you consider 40mm in future?
It feels right for me in street and decent portraits shooting. Not too wide and not too tight. Just my 2cent. hehe

40 on FF? That should work to about 25-28mm on APSC. That's actually an interesting preposition, as I do like the output from the FE28 (and the Batis, though of course the Batis is to rich for my blood lol). Unfortunately that range is a tad close to stuff I already have (my 20 and 30M).

Or 40 on APS-C (60mm equivalent). I haven't tried that one yet though, and the only lens I know that is good at 40mm is the Voight... but you know... MF + tele-ish lengths lol.

Either way, I will try them out once I get back.

Great ! Lemme know how u feel about it. 40mm Voight is tad good, tack sharp i would say (Bokeh is another story). It works great for my travel because of it's size.

I find the VM 40 1.4 colour rendering to be very moody, some times it is nice some times weird. Otherwise, great small lens.
