SEL16 + ECU1 is probably the cheapest way to go to 12mm (and actually the 16 is BETTER with the converter), but even then the optical quality is just about average. The converter IS fun to use with the SEL20 and the SEL30M though, but purely performance wise, of course its STILL inferior to anything dedictated (like the Samyang 12 or the SEL1018), even with an optically better base lens (though having a semi-WA 22.5mm/33.75mm FFE macro lens from the SEL30M+ECU1 combo is actually pretty sweet). It even fits the SEL50, though 2 out if 3 times it will make the 50mm not able to AF, and optical quality goes out the window with the SEL50+ECU1 combo for everything except closeups. Unfortunately that's not the biggest problem. THE problem now is the ECU1 is nigh impossible to find new nowadays since Sony replaced it with the black and twice as expensive ECU2 (which is otherwise the same thing lol). Just ask our resident ECU1 hunter, domo_kun . This post has been edited by Eiraku: Jan 11 2016, 09:31 AM |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Jan 11 2016, 09:29 AM) NOW I can see some sensor reflection going lol (the streetlights). It's still a pretty sweet pic nonetheless. Thanks! Those reflections are a bit frustrating sometimes really, I always felt its a small imperfection for most of the night pictures. I know there's a way to remove them with PS but I'm lazy to import into PS because my post-processing relies entirely on Capture One Pro. Well, just hope I'm able to upgrade the body one day... |

Hmnnn...long time din play wth my sony nex 5n and recently unit went kaput!
I was quoted almost RM500 to repair & decided not to continue. Looking for days now and realise that Sony really scaled down on A mount and most newest units are on E mount. Too bad I hv invested lotsa manual A mount and still favouring A mount rather than E. For my budget only the old A65 still available here but that was 2011 tech...not sure worth to get this? |

I hv the A to E mount adaptor but I prefer direct mount without any adaptor because I feel paranoid wth the additional length of the adaptor.
Furthermore wanna go for dslr rather than mirrorless |

QUOTE(mastering89 @ Jan 9 2016, 02:15 AM) unless u doing really2 close up ah... OK thanks.. magnify zoom ok for me...sharpness is quite good & with the 1/3 price of the batis, a lil bit of post processing should be enough. but on a7ii , i cant rely on the peeking that much at f/1.4 quickly magnify zoom is faster even in event/weddings sample ![]() ![]() Just got some mix review the f1.4 giving some glow type... |
